Do you think when Jimmy calls it quits, would let us know or would he be a little sneaky about it?
Maybe he would tell us in the title of his tour?

Recent consensus seems to think he'd want to make money off of it, and hype accordingly:

Not only will let us know, he'd increase ticket prices even more because it's a farewell tour. There will be special t-shirts, a Farewell to Thee rum, Farewell Flip Flops, Farewell chicken wings, programs would be replaced by a 300-page retrospective of his career ($99.99)...you get the idea.
edit: Yeah, what Tiki said

There is NO WAY a final tour wouldn't be billed as such..ticket prices will reflect that too

Maybe he won't have a chance to announce his final tour/show...
I suggest we just keep showin' up.

JB might be like the Eagles or Cher......how many "Farewell" tours have they each done now?????
Personally, I think Jimmy will keep playing, maybe less frequently, in more intimate settings like his own Margaritavilles or some Caribbean island, as long as his voice, desire, and we fans hold up.....

The Eagles Farewell 1 Tour was done as a joke.

I don't think Jimmy will announce a farewell tour. My prediction is that there will come a year when he will make the announcement that there will be no full scale tour that year. I don't think he will completely stop. I picture him cutting back on the full scale arenas and playing smaller venues. I think as long as the guy is having fun with this he will do it as he certainly does not need the money from touring. In the meantime, I am enjoying what we have because if I take any time wondering how it will end it will take some of the fun out of what is in the here and now.

I think he'll just keep playing. I don't think there will be a "farewell" announcement, but I think we'll see fewer and fewer "big" shows. I bet he alludes to it in the late fall / late winter interviews that he does...
Interviewer: Any big plans this year?
JB: Well, I'm still working my summer job, but not as many hours.
Interviewer: Taking some time off?
JB: I've been lucky to have this perpetual summer job, but I want to be sure I leave myself time to enjoy the sunset.
Interviewer: Won't there be a show as the opening act to the sunset?
JB: There will be some shows - maybe I'll just play a little longer at each show instead of playing more venues!

The Eagles Farewell Tour I was a joke title, but the joke turned out to be on them when they came out with that appalling album and a poorly received supporting tour.
Jimmy doesn't ever want to be the Eagles on their last tour, cancelling big venues for lack of sales. That was an embarrassing tour -- I was embarrassed to be there and they looked embarrassed to be playing. When Glenn kidded around that it was the "Assisted Living Tour", he wasn't really kidding.
Hopefully Jimmy will pick and choose a handful of meaningful gigs as he winds down his performing career.
I wonder, too, if the spill he took off the stage will be a game-changer for him -- he isn't getting any younger and that kind of stuff get harder and harder to bounce back from as you get older (no pun intended).

I'm sure that spill left JB with a different perspective of life in general.......I know it did for me.

Here's a question.
When the tours do finally end (gulp), will you still buy that new album he may do every year or two, or will the lack of the tour cause your interest to fade?
This isn't meant to be a sarcastic question.
I would still buy them and likely be interested hearing any news about him.
Man, the thought of the tours eventually ending really is kind of depressing.

I'll still buy his albums. I would hope he'd still do the occasional fundraiser or duet, too. And write more.
I just don't want it to get sad and pathetic, you know? That would be more depressing than the fact he's going to quit touring one day. It's always good to end on a high note, to leave people wanting more.
Honestly, I question my concert going now -- I last saw him in NJ before we moved to the east coast, and then couldn't see him here because we were traveling at the time, and I'd like to see him one more time. I don't want to be the sad people at the concert either, ya know? Better to have one more rollicking good time and then call it quits.

Finish a tour one year and after it's over announce "that's all folks".
I think that would be the best way.
