Wedding Song

Post by be at the beach »

I am sure this isn't the right place to post this but I am looking for some help. My son is getting married in a few weeks and he wants me to pick a mother-son dance song. His suggestions so far are Rascal Flatts - My Wish or Taylor Hicks-Do I Make You Proud. While I like both songs I would love to pick a song by one of my favorite troprock artists. Any suggestions?

for father daughter dance (in case anyone has a daughter getting married) I would suggest "Walk with you" by Edwin Mccain

check it out- if it doesn't make you cry---well you have a heart of stone

There's this one particular harbor.....

I need a mother & son dance for my son's wedding in August, but he's adamant. No Buffett.

I think that Garth Brooks The River is a GREAT song for any wedding parent dance...

I like the Iz version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." It's what I hope to dance to w/ my son when he gets married (in 20+ years).

I know it's not trop-rock, but "Child of Mine" by Carole King is a great mother-child song.

I know it's not trop rock, but Carole King's "Child of Mine" is an outstanding mom-kid wedding song.

Tell him "Sweet Child O mine" by Guns n Roses.
Odds are he'll ask "Doesn't Jimmy have a better song?".

He's very familiar with GnR. Good thing you didn't bet money.

He would know the voice. He was raised as a parrothead and attended his first concert when he was 4. Back then they weren't as much of a drunken brawl as they are now. He rebelled somewhere between Jr High and high school.

You Child by Peter Mayer

You child everything seems brand new
Nothing can get me through like you child
Some days I wake up and find you gone
Beat of my heart says how long will it be child

Slipped in through my window pane rested on my shoulder
Off you fly and my whole world grows colder
Stay a while won't you child…

Some days I wake up and find you gone
Beat of my heart says how long will it be child

Slipped in through my window pane rested on my shoulder
Off you fly and my whole world grows colder
Stay a while won't you child

He's a wonderful man!! I have to say man because my baby is getting married!! :D Good grief I feel old.........

That being said, he'll attend tailgates when I do and stuff like that. I don't see him going to another concert unless I have the tickets and well.......I've paid enough for Buffett concert tickets. My concert days with Buffett are close to being over. When getting tickets for your family & friends runs dadgum near 1k it's time to see other performers.
