Was "Knee Deep" Released as a Single?
I heard it on the Highway on Sirius on my way to work this morning. Kinda uncommon for them to play anything that isn't released as a single. I can see that being a great Memorial Day weekend anthem for country radio.

Indeed it has!! LOVE it!

"In Zac Brown Band‘s latest single, ‘Knee Deep,’ the message is clear: “When you lose yourself, you find a key to paradise.” And the king of the tropical paradise, Jimmy Buffett, knows that better than most.
Buffett appears in ZBB’s summery new tune as a guest singer, but he really steals the show. In his pop-up verse, the ‘Margaritaville’ legend packs his bags and heads toward the blue water:
“Wrote a note, said be back in a minute / Bought a boat and I sailed off in it / Don’t think anybody gonna miss me, anyway / Mind on a permanent vacation / The ocean is my only medication / Wishing my condition ain’t ever gonna go away.”
As usual, Brown brings some smooth vocals and a catchy chorus, just what we love from the easygoing singer who helped us find patriotism in ‘Chicken Fried’ and celebrate love in ‘Free.’ But if anything can be learned from the Georgia native’s music, it’s that he really loves to relax on the beach — and we love that we can live vicariously through his songs and take a vacation in our heads.
Grab yourself something cold and fruity, and whistle along (in between sips) to ‘Knee Deep,’ which appears on the band’s 2010 ‘You Get What You Give’ album.
Rating: 8/10"

You’re still grinning, we’re still winning, nothing left to say

What I was wondering is why Jimmy and Zac's only worry is if the tide is gonna reach their chair when in fact if you are knee deep in the water, the tide has long reached your chair.beachmusic wrote:Don't you just hate it when the tide reaches your chair?
It was wise to release this now............Cha-Ching!!!

Re: Was "Knee Deep" Released as a Single?
Anybody else notice that both Jimmy and Zac both rhyme the words "way" with "way" in the first two verses?
Doesn't rhyme but it sounds so sweet. Yeah, I notice the little silly things.
I've actually been listening to country radio a little at work and country radio needs this song.

Also lost a couple of IPOD'S when that rogue wave rolled under the beach chair. I have since relocated to slightly higher ground, but not too far from the shore. Last week, I was fortunate to see blue whales a mere 75 to 100 feet from the shore at the beach in Aptos (near Santa Cruz, CA).

Not only that, but they use "minute/in it/-way" as rhyme scheme for the first three lines in both the first and second verse. And the verse and chorus are virtually identical musically. If I tried pitching a song like that, I wouldn't get far.sonofabeach wrote:Anybody else notice that both Jimmy and Zac both rhyme the words "way" with "way" in the first two verses?

OTOH, I do love the song, and have already learned it and am covering it.
It's a lot easier for me to critique stuff like this than it is to create something better.

good thing Kenny Chesney is not in this duet with Zac. If Zac is knee deep then surely Kenny would be neck deepRinglingRingling wrote:you could plant one of those tall bar-stools in the sand... at least then the shorts aren't as wet when the water is knee-deepsonofabeach wrote:What I was wondering is why Jimmy and Zac's only worry is if the tide is gonna reach their chair when in fact if you are knee deep in the water, the tide has long reached your chair.beachmusic wrote:Don't you just hate it when the tide reaches your chair?
