Suggestions for old concert t-shirts
My collection of old concert, Jimmy, and Margaritaville t-shirts is getting out of hand and I need to free up space in the closet. I like the art work on many of them, so getting rid of them has been hard even though I do not wear many of them anymore. Any suggestions on what to do with them all?

You could have a wall hanging or quilt made out of them.

Re: Suggestions for old concert t-shirts
People have made quilts, used them for tops of bar stools and even pillows.
I like the pillow idea because it is simple.
Sew the neck and also the sleeves together...you can either use a sewing machine or hand sew.
Then stuff the shirt with fiberfill.
The last step is sewing the bottom together and tada...you have a pillow!

Take some good pictures of them for the memories, then auction them off on ebay or at tailgates / MOTM / whatever (or try to sell them here if allowed) and donate the proceeds to a charity?Beach Bob wrote:My collection of old concert, Jimmy, and Margaritaville t-shirts is getting out of hand and I need to free up space in the closet. Re: Suggestions for old concert t-shirts
A friend I used to work with made some of the most fantastic quilts using the T-shirt art work. She offered on many ocassions to make one for me using my Buffett T-shirt collection or one utilizing some of my aloha shirts. Now she has moved to Las Vegas and I only see her once a year at Woodies on the Wharf in Santa Cruz in June. I, too have been contemplating reducing my collection so maybe this year I'll bring her the shirts and let her creativity take over.

I had a quilt made out of my old Husky Football t-shirts a long time ago.PartofthePhlock wrote:Beach Bob wrote:My collection of old concert, Jimmy, and Margaritaville t-shirts is getting out of hand and I need to free up space in the closet. It got trashed and I actually just tossed it out when we started the remodeling job.PartofthePhlock wrote:Thats great, do you still have the quilt? Re: Suggestions for old concert t-shirts
I like it..
There was an ad in one of the recent Rolling Stone mags (free with JB concert tix) for a comapny that would make a quilt out of your shirts....if I come across it again...I'll post.
Maybe someone else has it handy?

I had one of mine framed. It's from the 2002 tour and it took me 6 years, but everyone in the band except Roger Guth signed it.
