Carl Hiaasen on Today Show (Jimmy mentioned)

Carl Hiaasen was on the Today show this morning promoting his new book Basket Case. Matt Lauer mentioned that Carl and Jimmy are friends and asked if the band in the book was based on Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band. Carl said no, but that he did discuss the book with Jimmy when writing it. There is more on the book at the NBC Today show website.

Also on Today this morning, a mention of their 2001 Green Room Guest Book being up for auction on eBay. The item number is 1403668600. Jimmy's in there, his autograph "J Buffett" was clearly seen as they ran through an animation of the pages being "fanned". Pretty expensive as of this hour, money goes to a good cause, America's Second Harvest.
