Tony Awards - Book of Mormon - Amazon MP3
I <heart> the Tony Awards. The Book of Mormon cleaned house last night--the musical a la Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

Ooh...thanks! I didn't get to see the Tonys last night, but will look them up shortly and will download this.
Since you would know who I'm talking about...I got to see Idina Menzel last week with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra. She was mesmerizing. We ended up 3rd row, center and from start to finish her show was amazing. She did some things from Rent, Wicked, Funny Girl, Annie, some originals and, because she was in Nashville, had worked up an acoustic arrangement of Willie Nelson's You Were Always On My Mind. It was beautiful.

I knew this girl made of memories and phrases, who lived her whole life in both chapters and stages.
Danced 'til the dawn, wished all her worries away.
She's a long way from a West Nashville grand ballroom gown.

Oh man! That sounds incredible. My daughter is super into Broadway. She got to go to 9-5 the Musical (blech), but after the show, all of the actors did a cabaret fundraiser for her school and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids. It was kind of like a talent show, but with professionals and it rocked. One of the actors in the show graduated from her HS, so he helped coordinate it for the students. It was fantastic.maid memories wrote: Ooh...thanks! I didn't get to see the Tonys last night, but will look them up shortly and will download this.

That sounds amazing. My brother is into it, too, so we went to the show last week. He'll be a senior in HS next year. His sophomore year they were doing Aida and he wanted to audition. He's always played piano, but nobody in my family knew he could sing the way he does. Singing was always my thing and he just always played piano. Anyway, he ended up the male lead in Aida, last year they did Suessical and I'm very much looking forward to seeing him (presumably) as the Beast when they do Disney's Beauty and the Beast this spring. So proud of him. We'll have to trade videos sometime.buffettbride wrote:Oh man! That sounds incredible. My daughter is super into Broadway. Maybe we could do a BN phlocking in NY! I haven't been in WAY too long! Although tickets were already hard to come by and after last night it will probably be next year before there are any available. LOVE the Tony awards! I saw my first Broadway show at 11 years old and never got over it.Left Field ParrotHead wrote:Found a review of it. http://www.guardian.co.uk/stage/2011/ma ... mon-review
