A Monday? Really?

I think that may be a glitch as last years date was the 18th and they may just be using that - it's happened before.

Also for what's it's worth.........that happens regularly on a lot of sites for Bristow........and I have a hard time believing that he would give New England a Monday show........ but I guess anything can happen........

That happened with Camden dates a few years ago. Some website put up the dates from the previous year and just changed the year.

He did a Monday Wednsday that year 6/20 and 6/22

I'd be shocked if he did a Monday , i'd be out if i get a new job by then....i'd have to take Tuesday off too , and that would be tough to do.

i'm still sticking with my Aug. prediction , or around the 4th of July , so he can spend time on Nantucket.

i'll give one wild date , the Friday before Memorial Day weekend , because we know Jimmy is into Boats and That is Figawi Race weekend on The Cape ( People that live on, or been will know what this is)

How it got it's name.


One story:

The name "Figawi" originated with the first sailors of the race, including John Linehan, a well known New England sailboat racer from Osterville, Cape Cod who, when encountering fog during that first sail to Nantucket, stated "Where the fu&k are we?" The phrase from this foggy passage became lore and was shortened to the more socially acceptable "Figawi."

Another story:

A more elaborate humorous explanation, in part based on the preceding origin, is the tale of a fictional band of nomad Indians that would wander from town to town. They were noted for always emphatically announcing themselves upon their arrival in Pidgin English, "We're the Figawi!"

Sadly, this poor band was actually lost. Wandering from settlement to settlement, they kept asking where they were, but would only receive blank stares from the stupid townspeople. They are probably still out there… The Race founders, attempting to traverse Nantucket Sound with its infamous fog and shoals, felt great kinship with these unhappy souls. The official race emblem for many years sported an Indian looking through a spyglass backwards.

What parents tell their children:

Children are told that it is a shortening of the question "Where in the fog are we"?

F-Troop...now were're going back in time!!!.......Fagawi weekend is a lot of fun , when we had our house on The Cape , i would go every year , The Race starts in Hyannis , so the parties leading up to the Saturday Start are ( using one of Jon's words) Epic!!! and continue Saturday night and Sunday on Nantucket.
