She also told them that some of us......who shall remain nameless......could easily drink them under the table and "they did it for 3 days!"
She now has the beginning ideas for her doctoral thesis in psychology and is sure to be conducting interviews at future concerts!

Never got my t-shirt at the Beachcomber...........oh well.......I'll be back!

I think it being her 6th concert and the fact that she has flown to Alpine Valley twice to see Jimmy qualifies her as a full blown Parrothead!   She had great fun and don't let the fact she was quiet at the beach fool you. She heard everything! [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]
You sure about that. Wasn't she reading Fifty Shades of Grey?

Not sure anyone besides me really had the option, but dawdling on the Cape Monday saved me from driving in any nasty storms. I walked through two old cemeteries in the rain and took the back roads to the bridge. The storms petered out some by the time they got to the lower Cape (steady rain but no wild weather) and they'd passed east by the time I crossed the bridge headed west. We MUST do the Cape thing again. Maybe even again this summer. Anyone considered camping?

Cape, I can try. Camping? Is that staying in a Holiday Inn?

Definitely trying to get down to the Cape either this summer or next. I actually want to visit Nantucket too just to say I visited.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

It was great to finally meet some of the people I have been posting to over the last few months. You were very welcoming and made my wife and I comfortable from the moment we arrived at the pool.

The tailgate started so organized and made it easy to enjoy yourself. I had a great time sharing my crazy tailgate inventions and visiting up and down the rows with everyone. Maybe next time it won’t go so fast.

The show had some amazing songs, the acoustic set when they all sat was a particular highlight. But hands down, the best part of the show was when I heard the entire venue singing along with the big guy. I have never witnessed every single person actually knowing the words and singing along. It was a very special and spiritual thing for me that still gives me goosebumps when I think about it.

Your encouragement to spend a few days in Cape Cod was one of the best leaps of faith I have ever taken. Denby and I got to really relax and have a great time. The Beachcomber, whale watching, Provincetown, beach campfire, and eating lobster rolls from a different place for every meal are all great memories.

Thank you all for making the weekend everything I hoped it would be.
Tom
Great to meet you Tom. Glad the hotel worked out OK too.

Funny you say "Maybe next time it won’t go so fast" that is what makes GW so great. Iver been going since 93 and my only complaint each time is there isn't enough hours in a day to see everything.

Irene and I stayed at Paines Campground in Wellfleet, a short drive to both the Beachcomber and Wellfleet.
It's a beautyful small campground in the woods, run by a very nice, friendly and helpful family. No restaurant, pool or laundry, but they sell ice and firewood.
IIRC no full hookups, but sites with electricity are available. They also have a quiet couples section...
Paines Campground
We already consider this site for next year...

Oh, and a word about my favourite Cape Cod food item, Lobster Rolls:
I had a nice one at the Combah' for 20$.
Monday evening, looking for a little dinner a bit lateish in Wellfleet, we ended up at Mac's Shack, on the road leading to the harbour / Mac's Kitchen.
It looks pricey, but it isn't! And I had the best Lobster Roll ever! Also 20$, but more lobster, plus fries and IIRC coleslaw.
They have a nice raw bar too!
Definitely worth considering if the weather isn't that nice.
Paris, France, September 2010. Paris 2011. Paris 2012. 2013. 2015.
Mansfield MA, Great Woods June 18 2011. And June 2012. And 2013!
Jimmy in Key West, MOTM 2011. Unforgettable! And let's not talk about MOTM 2015
