My buddy and I traveled from Maryland to finally visit Great Woods. Stayed about a half hour away in Rhode Island, met some fellow parrotheads staying there as well. The tailgating was just as good as advertised and our "neighbors" were great and we'll be staying in touch with a few of them. I was also surprised we didn't have to pay when we parked. In all the years of seeing Jimmy, I've never had to show my tickets before to get into the lot. What happens to those people who are meeting friends who have the tickets? Just curious. There was a pretty large puddle in the parking lot from all the storms the night before. There were about 4 or 5 cars that had a 6 inch lake directly behind their vehicles. The venue actually sent out guys with squeegees to spread out the water and let it dry. Amazing! I was a bit disappointed with the venue itself. I knew the lawn was small, but not that small! The sound system was such that it was hard to understand Jimmy when he was talking to the audience. After the show everyone is trying to get down the stairs and there is no lighting. They need to think about a second means of egress from that place. But all in all, an excellent roadtrip and one I'd do again. Thanks to all you New England parrotheads, you made those of us from south of the Mason-Dixon feel right at home.

Sorry the sound wasn't the best, but I am glad we showed you some hospitality. I do hope you enjoyed the tailgating and the show itself. Went on a mini walkabout to the RV's. Lots of areas over there were really swampy. But at least it didn't rain, hail, or hurricane that day

Great Woods has always included parking in the price of the ticket, used to say it on it, something like "$1 parking included in ticket price." Back in 1998 at the saturday Buffett show they basically ran out of parking spots for the first time ever at Great Woods. They started parking people all over the place. The next year they turned away vehicles heading in such as flat beds with pools on them etc and I believe you had to flash your tickets on the way in. They have been doing a ticket check now for a number of years but just in the past few years (since about the advent of print you tickets at home) have they scaned them as you enter. The first few years if you told them you were meeting friends who had the tickets they were pretty leinient, but not so much any more. This year if you had will call tickets they had a small parking lot that you were directed to and you got your tickets there before you were allowed to in the general parking.
Glad you had fun up here in the north

Any chance anybody has video of Changes in Latitudes? From what I'm told, our tailgate site made the big screen but I didn't get a chance to see it. Would love to see some video if it's out there..........
