It appears that the jokelben server is down again at the moment I have no information as to why it is down but hopefully it will be back up as soon as possible.

I have heard from Bobtu the owner of Jokelben and according to him his hosting company removed the server. He has a full backup of all of the contents of the server so nothing has been lost. Bobtu is looking for a new place to host the server.

Makes me wonder if his hosting company is doing this on their own .... or .... if they are doing this in response to someone's complaints.

I doubt there have been any complaints about the jokelben server, as both Spooners and Sunlover's servers are still up and running.

This issue with Jokelben as I understand it has to do with the amount of disk space needed for all of the shows on jokelben (nearly 500 at last count). Hopefully this will be resolved quickly and a new home will be found for Jokelben.

between jokelben and my site, i'm sure we are in the terabyte range of file storage. of course, most of the files are not accessed on a regular basis. i believe we have a couple options, both of which i forwarded to bobtu.

1) start a third server and split the files into three collections. one site can have older shows, one can have mid era shows and the third site can hold current shows.

and/or...

2) post content that is not accessed much onto mediafire or similar. you lose ftp access, but the storage space is available. keep the ftp sites for current or more popular shows.

just my 1/4 byte...
