Tavaris Jackson is finally getting out of the dysfunction of the Vikings and Farve, McNabb is supposedly being brought in to mentor the newest QB. Good luck Mr. Jackson, hopefully you get a chance to shine and show your worth. As for McNabb, feh. Best years on this guy are long gone. Hopefully you can teach.
Jackson had plenty of opportunities over the years to produce and failed.
He couldn't hit the ground with his hat. Ponder is a year or two away
from being a starter. McNabb will teach him the ropes. Vikes could make
the playoffs with McNabb.

The fact is that the Patriots have been kicking the Jets as$ for so long even one small victory that amounted to nothing is worth celebrating if you are a fan. No one is taking them seriously. The Jets are the equivalent of Tony Romo in the AFC. Worthless.
Short term memory problems there buddy? Maybe you should lay off the sauce for a bit.
Which team has been to the AFC Championship 2 years in row? And which team hasn't? Get used to it, you guys are old news...
You are actually bragging about getting to the game before the actual championship? Not winning the game! Just getting to the semi-finals. This could make my top ten list of "you know you are a fan of a pathetic loser sports team when . . . "
This, after the team you are mocking, won 3 Super Bowls, made 4 Super Bowl appearances (but I would never brag about losing a big game), a perfect regular season, and a couple of record setting win streaks.
Perhaps you want to travel back to 1969 when the Jets actually mattered. Because the whole "YIPPPEEEEE we made it to the AFC championship" level of "brag" makes me want to sign you up for therapy. The equivalent would be me bragging about the 2003 Red Sox. "Gosh darn! We came so close . . . we should be proud of our efforts" . . . bullsh*t.
Talk all you want about the 3 Super Bowl championships, the undefeated season, the record winning streaks, all the other BS. None of that means s*** if they can't close the deal and it's been 6 years and counting since they won a game that mattered. The last two years they were one and done in the playoffs and both of those losses were at home.
and when was the last time the Jets ( Just End The Season) won a big game.....i think i was 6!!
My sister wasn't even born yet and she was born in 1969.

you may be right, tho I have to wonder how much of his "give a d*m" went out of it with Farve's hiring, because that was fairly early in his career, tho I may be remembering it wrong.

I think the first time, he probably thought ok he gets to learn with Favre. With the second drama the year later, you may have something.

I think halfway thru the first season with Farve, it was looking like Jackson was a less-talented Aaron Rogers (sp?) in the same situation as Green Bay's former backup. Farve has been poisonous the last 4-5 years. Sure, he almost got the Vikes to the Superbowl, and there are some that would say he was robbed as part of a storyline to get folks in NO to feel good about having a football team, but that was lighting the candle at both ends and in the middle in terms of Farve's remaining talent.
Channel 7 up here in Boston is reporting that the Redskins traded Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 2013 draft pick. I don't see anything about it anywhere else as of now.

I even checked espn.com and must have posted right after I posted this.
Adam Schefter broke that about 6:25 on Mike & Mike. Its for a 5th round pick. Looks like the 'Hoodie' is up to his old trick. The Redskins have paid most of Haynesworth's guaranteed $$. The Patriots are on the hook for 5 million this year. That's a pretty good gamble.
Dumb and drunk as I was, you know I would do it all again.
I felt, and posted it here numerous times, that Haynesworth was the MVP of the NFL during his last year in TN. He was a beast. He won games, almost, single handily. But because he is not a QB or RB he didn't get it. No one was more valuable than Haynesworth that year. This move by the Patriots reeks of Corey Dillon and Randy Moss. If any team can get Haynesworth back to near 100% of his potential it is New England. It is a d*mn good move and I am glad that the Patriots executed it. Low risk - high reward.
You all might laugh but you will see the seldom used 2 - 5 Defense (Wilfork and Haynesworth) against teams like Indy. Those two equal in body mass most teams 4 - 3.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

Miami has been to 22 Division Champion Ships 5 Super Bowls and have 2 Super Bowl wins...not like he's going to a team that never wins....really wouldn't consider it a move for Money.......and , really, aren't all or most Athletes all about the money. I'm sure he looked at , where would he play...i think it was a good move by both.
Jon, i figured the Pats would be the only team that would take a flyer on Haynesworth...it's there style and it has worked in the past....if he plays up to his potential , he is a beast.....if not they just lost a 5th round pick.

The pick doesn't concern me because the Patriots have stockpiled so many picks over the past few years that if Haynesworth doesn't work out it really is a wash.
Ravi . . . if you read this . . . I gotta ask what is your team thinking? The Redskins have to have the worst management in all of American professional sports and that includes the Bengals, the Dodgers, and the Raiders. I have known you a long time Ravi. I consider you a friend. I probably owe you 70 + beers at this point (which is significant because the base line for beers I owe to most of my Parrot Head friends is roughly 50 so you are well above that and rising) but your Redskins keep f*cking up. The deal the Patriots got for Haynesworth was a no brainer .
