Interesting that there isn't any irritation that a team at 12-4 or 11-5 (Steelers or Ravens) will be visiting a team that is 8-8 or 9-7 (Oakland or Denver).
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

Chargers can look dominating when focused (right, Ravens fans?)

...and now they can look at those other chumps play into January while we choke on it  :x

Yep. Especially with the Seahawks from last year. The Chargers seemed like they didn't care yesterday.

As a Ravens fan, I couldn't believe that the Chargers lost yesterday. Sure looked like they were on a roll again last week....... :o

The Ravens have been a frustrating team to watch this year. One week they look dominating, the next they look a pee-wee squad. They have for too long relied on their defense and this year the defense isn't as dominating. In his 4th year QB Joe Flacco has "led" the team to the playoffs, but can't get to the Big Show. They won't this year either......

Sometimes I can only say: "There is no dumbass vaccine......"

Yeah, it's irritating, but that's how the current format is set up. I'm not crazy about it either, but that's how it is.

Remember last year-the Seattle Seahawks finished the season at 7-9, but WON their division, and hosted a playoff game against the defending Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints, who finished the season at 11-5. But Seattle WON their division, while the Saints were a wild card team. HOWEVER, the GOOD teams will win on the road OR at home and shouldn't be concerned WHAT the other team's regular season record is. (Green Bay Packers were a wild card team last year-GUESS WHAT)?

And how about THIS scenario:
(Would never happen in a million years, but a mathematical possibility)
Each of the four teams in a particular division splits their home & home games with the other three teams in their division, and all four of those teams LOSE all of their remaining 13 games.
You would have four teams with a 3-13 record, one of which WOULD be the division winner. (Who could potentially HOST a playoff game against a wild card team with a record of 14-2).
Again, don't ever look for that to happen, but mathematically it could.

That's the N.F.L., and (as much as I HATE this cliche), it is what it is.

Were you also aware that in each of the post-season games Green Bay played last year (including the Super Bowl), they were the visiting team?
I have a T-shirt commemorating what could probably be called "The Ultimate Road Trip", listing all four post-season games and the final scores.

My point exactly Garry. It annoyed me that people last year were blasting the NFL for allowing the Seahawks to host a playoff game with s 7-9 record and now are not saying anything. I always say that the best team always wins the game and it doesn't matter what record either of the teams are.

Regardless of playoff status it may or may not create, I really, really, really hope Denver can hand the Chief's asses to them.

It's been a helluva ride this year with my Broncos. Glad to finally feel some real momentum and spirit about the team that has been missing since the Shanahan/Elway/Terrell Davis days. Hopefully next year they can actually be a real football team.

On another note, my almost 8-year-old has been telling everyone that he can pray like Tim Tebow and is clamoring for a #15 jersey for Xmas. While Tebow is still only a man, I fear the day he may do something, even inadvertently that may tarnish his pure image---but it is hella nice to have a sports role model who isn't a total thug. Tebow may be a little right of center for my tastes, but he's a good kid with a whole lotta heart.

Unfortunately, I know a lot of people who want Tebow to be exposed as a fraud, not only on the football field but also because of his faith and constant preaching (meaning thanking Jesus for each victory).

he's not the only Athlete that does that......almost any interview with a player starts with i wanna thank God!!!......and i don't think he is constantly preaching , he's thanking God , he's not pushing his beliefs on people . If people are following along with it ( The Tebowing) , they are doing it on there own.....Reggie White was the same way.....but ,no one really said anything then.

Reggie White actually was an ordained Baptist minister since age 17.... although I wonder if this was actually a true position as a cleric in the religious sense or rather it was just a reflection of that particular denomination's attitude that all members are ministers, in much the same way that young adults of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints (the Mormons) are urged to undertake a two-year period of missionary work and proselytizing.

And if being Tebow means that he takes a knee from time to time instead of stomping on someone, punching a referee, or standing up and talking trash in someone's face every time he makes a play, then give me a team of Tebows.
