Re: Akumal, Mexico
When we stayed in Tulum we stopped in Akumal and did some shopping and found a couple of awesome restraurant/bars on the ocean. One of them was called Casa Cenote and is awesome with a great view. There is a great cenote there and I went snorkeling in it.
The other place was Le Beuna Vida and it is awesome as well. It's on Half Moon Bay and I took a little swim there too.
We also explored the caves of Aktun Chen which were great. It did not seem like a very big town but we did not explore everywhere since it was a daytrip for us.

My friend goes to Akumal at least twice every year... in fact, she's there now for the turtle hatching. She always stays at the same place and gets discounts because she is there so often... Akumal Beach Resort. I've never been, but I hear about how great it is all the time!
