Can't be too bad yet, Jimmy suggested that everybody join him surfing
Sounded like he was ready to play: "It's not in my makeup to cancel or miss shows....of course we would have played."

The GW show a few years ago went on, and that was after they moved they start time up a bit. I am guessing JLL pulled the plug. How many people will want the refund will have a lot to do with their new tailgating policy. I hate to say it, but Mother Nature is on JB's side with the new rule.chippewa wrote:Can't be too bad yet, Jimmy suggested that everybody join him surfing

Is it me or when he said the words "the venue" did it sound like he had tasted something foul? ![cheeky-grin [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]](./images/smilies/cheeky-grin.gif)
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

This is one time that I am glad the show was rescheduled. As much as I love Jimmy Buffett and the CRB I wouldn't brave the elements to go to this show. The concert is not limited to the 2.5 hours of show. Going to and from the concert is the big thing, and if they were to have the show and if something such as a death were to occur when someone would be coming to and from the show, that would be a law suit in the making.

East coast wimps,
they freak out over 6inches of snow, a hurricane level one storm and you think it was the apocalipso.

Wasn't there a hurricane going on during last years Bristow? I agree, this is everyone's chance to get a refund on that show.

Re: Jimmy's announcement on Radio Margaritaville.
It's really no comparison, but I was at the Summerzcool Tour stop at Alpine Valley in August 2009. The weather there was not really conducive to an outdoor concert; the temps never really got much above the mid-60s all day; there was a strong, steady (and COLD!) wind out of the northwest; and to top it off, it started raining just about the time Jimmy took the stage. I was fortunate enough to be under the pavilion itself, but I could only feel sorry for the people outside on the lawn or on the exposed party decks.
As the show went on the temperatures continued to drop, far enough in fact that Jimmy came out after the intermission and performed the rest of the show while wearing a hoodie! He did make a few gags about it, such as hoping that the beach balls didn't become snowballs, and the party continued — but to put it bluntly, while the show went off OK the conditions really sukked. And this was no out of the ordinary weather event like a hurricane or tornado; it was just an example of what can be a common occurrence in Wisconsin in late August/early September.
Now, Jimmy is supposed to bring himself, his band, his equipment and all, and put on a show that would attract thousands of partying Parrotheads to a venue that is within a hundred miles or so of the predicted track of a Cat 3 hurricane and expose them to that sort of hazard? Sorry, but there's no entertainment that is worth taking the chance of getting one's self injured or killed. Even if the show did come off without a hitch, these people are still going to be in a potential danger zone; even if they live there they are going to be out and about on highways and hotels at a time when a reasonable man would be hunkered down and making like a turtle.
If it had been me, I would have postponed — not cancelled — the show and urged the fans to make sure they're safe and secure....and then owned the situation and made it immediately clear to them that it was my decision, and that something would be rescheduled as soon as we knew what was going on and what the storm had left us able to work with.
