I can't wait to get more details on this story!!!

The federal government is considering a novel way to reduce the deficit: a $22 billion garage sale. The plan is still facing red tape, but possible items going up-for-sale include an island, courthouses, an airstrip, and underused vehicles. What do you think they should sell? What would you buy?

What do you think?
Of course the island and airstrip stand out :P

Maybe they should sell some of the national monuments. Prudential could buy Mt Rushmore ..... now THAT would be a "piece of the rock"!

I wonder if they have any motorcycles with sidecars? Then I could take Bonzo for a ride (he refuses to ride on the back of the Harley).

Uncle Sam already does this for some things. There are installations around the country called Defense Reutilization Marketing Offices (DRMO). CONUS and OCONUS commands send used (or new unused items) items to the various DRMO's for reuse. If other government agencies do not pick up these items after a while they are auctioned off to the general public if not classified.

Maybe the Washington Monument will be in the damaged goods section...... :-?

But I would stay away from any partially burned wooden crates with any 3rd Reich symbols on it. :o
