well i just heard back from my contact at WTAMU, he did not find anything in the yearbooks there, however Olivia Newton John was there in 1975 he said. LOL Oh well, the search continues.

I would love to see this taping of Austin City Limits released on DVD/CD at some point. Considering the amount of archival releases there have been on New West Records, I don't think it's entirely out of the realm of possibility.

Conched, that is some good detective work. Amarillo is a bit out of the way from OKC to Austin, but not that far. I want to think that the "lost show" was in the winter, but thinking is what caused all this in the first place, i am begining to wonder if it ever happened and this is just a mean trick Kirk is playing on me. I never stole his girlfriend or anything like that.

I just heard back from an ol Fraternity brother whose family has owned and run a chain of very successful music stores in and around Amarillo since the early 1900's. I had emailed him earlier this morning and he seems to recall his older sister, who went to high school with Kirk and I, going to see Jimmy in that time frame. He is going to be checking with her along with some of the people that work for him. I feel the wind filling our sails one more time. keep those bones crossed!

Well, and it makes more sense that it was in 1975 also since Philip Fajardo was not the drummer when Jimmy was on Austin City Limits.
According to the photos on Roger B's website, Mike Gardner was the drummer for the ACL show.

Nice work Conched, we were leaning to 1975. we were thinking that Phillip probably had something to do with them playing Amarillo. Again, thanks for your support in our quest.

Yes, and I did manage to convince my dad to dig through my records to look at the ticket stub. Luckily he likes a good mystery.
Sorry to disappoint, but the ticket was for a show in California in 1982.

Those were great years Conched. Just wish we could remember them. Then we wouldn't be having this problem. Hey Remittance Man, That is still pretty cool.

That's ok conched, i enjoyed watching the videos anyway. Well, we have had no progress in our search, however, it has forced Kirk and I to get with the times and get a Facebook page. We are a little concerned about getting our feelings hurt if no one wants to be our friend. but sometimes you have to be a risk taker when you are on a quest such as ours.

Thanks Gram, again, nice to have another Texan boarding the ol "lost show" ship. Kirk and i both caved in and set up some facebook pages to help us in contacting more people. As one of my son's friends posted on my page, "Welcome to 2011", that did sting a bit. Anyway, hopefully technology will lead the way to the end of our search. Damn teenagers.
Oh wait, we were teenagers when we saw Jimmy back when.
