Christmas / Holiday drinks

I'm trying to come up with a holiday drink to compliment the Poinsettia Cocktail. The Poinsettia is red and I'm looking for a green one for Christmas Eve. Does anyone have any ideas?

My thought was adding Midori for the green touch, thinking the melon flavor should blend nicely with a smooth champagne. I won't be able to test it out until tomorrow night. I'll provide updates.

Let me know what you think!

or

1.5 white rum
0.5 mint syrup
1.5 cream

Anything is a green glass would work!

I just saw Popcorn Jack's article in the latest Caribbean Travel and Life. His drink is pictured in a really pretty green glass. The drink is the "elder statesmen" one that was his winning recipe.

He got a full page article in the magazine. NICE!

Green is tough because the there are two alcoholic choices you have: Midori and creme de menthe (green). If you try to blend them, they become either yellow or crap. Best is a coffee/hot chocolate move with a whipped cream top and a cream de menthe splash. seriously, i wish i had a better option, but truth is I've been wanting a great green drink that doesn't look like a diluted blue hawaiian.

Ke Ke (key lime) schnapps. It's green. It's YUMMY. Best served very cold. You'll taste key lime pie as you sip it; the aftertaste (my hand to the Heavens!) is graham cracker crust.

A Poinsettia is champagne, Cointreau and cranberry. It's a really nice red colored champagne cocktail. I was looking for something I could do in green to compliment it, so I'd have a table of red and green bubbly cocktails.

I'll be testing the Midori tonight . . . Sour Apple is another pretty good idea. Thanks TommyBahama!

Margaritas are green, too. If you want them darker green, I would think you could just add food coloring.

Margaritas are too easy! (And too strong for many) I wanted something green in a champagne glass to compliment the Poinsettia red jewel tone . . .

Talk to Capt. Flock about his Parrotpi$$. It's green, great, and deadly delicious.
It's got dark spice rum, melon liquor, coconut rum, pineapple, sweet & sour mix, and I think blue curacao....yum. You could freeze it (it would'nt actually freeze, just get thicker).
:D
