For those of you who have been to the Big Easy...

I lucked out and will be heading to New Orleans for a day or two at the end of April! My wife will be 5 months pregnant at that time and she's not sure if she wants to go or not. Any opinions or suggestions?

Stay someplace in the french quarter if you are going for a short stay.
at 5 months pregnant, convenient good places to eat and things to see will be the top of your list.

We always love staying at the Monteleone ( www.hotelmontelleone.com ) at the corner of Bienville and Royal.
Beautiful classic family hotel with a great location. Acme Oyster house is right around the corner, Mr B's Bistro is across the street, and the galleries on Royal St are at your doorstep.

I see no reason whatsoever why your wife can't go to Nawlins'. There's a lot of walking in the French Quarter, but there's taxis and horse-drawn carriages and the streetcars for getting around. The sad thing: no drinking !! :o No Huge-Ass beers or Hurricanes or Voodoo Daquiris ! But there's so much more to do than drinking. Like eating. Holy cowrita, there's some GOOD FOOD !!!! :D :D :D

Just plan as many 'rest' stops as she will need....lots of benches and outdoor cafes :D
