Todd was one of the first artists signed to Buffett's Margaritaville label back in 1994. Aside from "Beer Run", he's probably best known for "Talkin' Seattle Grunge Rock Blues", a hidden track (that was almost left off altogether) from his debut record, Songs From the Daily Planet. He's since had some of his songs recorded by a variety of other artists including Gary Allan, Cross Canadian Ragweed and Jack Ingram.

That song has always reminded me a Jerry Jeff Walker's "Ramblin Scramblin".
Not the subject matter but the strumming, structure and fast pace of the song.
Both are kickass tunes imo.

BTW, Todd's Jerry Jeff covers album, Time As We Know It: Songs of Jerry Jeff Walker, is due for release on April 24th. This according to Amazon.

Kevn Kinney of Drivin n Cryin is the guest editor at Magnet magazine this week. In previous entries he's sung the praises of the likes of R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck. In this one it's Todd Snider.
