The dreaded shark tank. Great for hockey, but not so much for concerts. However, we'll be there and hopefully skip on over to the islands if the concert at the Shell becomes a reality.

The one and only time I went to a Buffett show at the Tank, the sound was horrible. Couldn't understand a word that Jimmy said between songs.

If a place can be found for a pre-party, I'll likely be there. But I may listen to the show on RM. At least that way I'll be able to *hear* it.

Last time he played there, 05 I think, we were able to find some offsite lots to tailgate. Not sure if those lots are still open but we had no problems with drinks or grills (huge difference from shoreline).

Budget permitting (better get on those taxes!) so will we. Otherwise, I'll have to pick one or the other.

Tailgating probably won't work so what's the best pre-party for parrotheads (the Tonga Room is too far to drive)?

Will be there with bells on!!!!!!!!!

There are numerous hotels and bars within a reasonable walking distance from the Arena. The bars will be more expensive obviously. I don't know how the parking lots are on tailgating, if memory serves me (and it rarely does) I think people should be fine as long as they don't get out of hand.

PS will pay contribute to gas to carpool from Pittsburg / concord area!

well alrighty then. count me in. see you there. last time jimmy played the shark tank, a few peeps from oregon showed up, but that was probably a saturday show. down santa clara street at about a 1 mile distance, is the deanza hotel where a lot of people go before sharks games. furthur down, there is a street full of bars and resturants. unfortunately the street name escapes me for the moment.

Now that I've looked at my calendar...I can't even make the parking lots for this one. :(

I'm doing a mini-tour in the FL Panhandle that weekend, with shows scheduled in Panama City Beach and Destin. Flights are booked, and I expect I'll have an excellent time.

So it goes.

Not sure who pays for all the promotion, but an onslaught of print, tv and radio commercials began today promoting the show. Frankly, they never had to promote his shows in the past. He was always guaranteed 20 to 25 thousand people at Shoreline year after year with minimal promotion. My guess is that since this concert is a scant month away and tickets go on sale Friday, the promoter had no other choice. Regardless, because of the Shark Tanks awful reputation in terms of sound quality, I would expect the crowd to be in the 12to 15 thousand range. We'll be there ready to hula, hula, hula!

I can't afford to go to any JB concerts... all my money goes to tuition payments to Santa Clara University for my youngest 'keet.

She sent me an email today... she's going with a bunch of friends to the San Jose concert! :-?

T'man plus 4,5 or 6 more...peeps trying to put in quick vacation notices once I let 'em know Bubba was coming west. I honestly don't remember a problem with audio last time I saw him at the Shark...but by then I was pretty overserved. Our tailgate started on the balcony outside our hotel room and continued in the parking lot. We proceeded to stumble...err...walk over to the venue. Very short walk IIRC. The after party was the reverse. Late check out to recover then a 2.75 hour drive home... 8)

Slight correction: Joe was the *other* guy with the guitar. :)

I'm not worried . . . she first saw JB when she was 11 (the last time he was anywhere close to Seattle)
and then saw him in Vegas the next year and was front row in the Waikiki Shell the last time he played there.
She's seen your type!
