What a great time we had. I really loved the tailgate....smallest one I've been a part of but it was nice...no long lines to the port-a's, everyone having fun, great music from Jerry Gontang, familiar faces, crab-man & she-crab, El Pablo, SD Pirate 40, and more....The 6 hours just flew by. Taking the trolley to the show was great. The concert itself was very good. Only the 4th time seeing him indoors (and 1st since 2003 in Vegas). The sound was good for an indoor venue. Jimmy and the Reefers seemed very energetic and lively. Jimmy seemed surprised by such a warm reception from the crowd. We were very loud---hope that buys us a stop every year (not every 3-4 years). Had a closer seat than what we usually have at other venues. The set list was pretty stale, unfortunately, (I'd rather hear Cowboy in the Jungle than License to Chill, or Manana instead of Last Man Standing, or Wino and I Know instead of Piece of Work, etc) but I can't complain, I'm just happy we got a show in SoCal after none in 2011. Next year's announcement of maybe more rarities or oldies sounds very exciting and I'm hoping for an Irvine show for late summer/early fall. Thanks to all of you who continue to make it so much fun after 25 shows and 28 years of being a Parrot Head.
