Toyota Park, Chicago
I'm just gonna put it out there. Look for July 28th . . .
Its educated speculation based on soccer schedules, history, and cross checking against First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre schedule. I don't want him to play there anymore than anyone else but it was possible last year . . . I heard Toyota Park just outbid FMBA by a hair.
The dark horse venue . . . Soldier Field . . . Think about it . . .
The Parrot Dice Lounge will be returning no matter where we end up . . . Always new ideas to experiment with.
Now would be the part where you tell me how both venues s*** and he should possibly play in Gary, Indiana or some other god forsaken place.

Ok Matt here goes. I really liked the convenience of Toyota Park. Easy in, easy out. Pavement though is hot hot hot!!!
Not so crazy about Tinley Park but with our central location we have many options.
The unfortunate part is if we don't follow you and your flock we miss seeing you and Amanda.

Re: Toyota Park, Chicago
I like Toyota Park, even though last year the parking seemed a little weird. I think that was because of the storms that rolled through early in the day. Otherwise, I like it so much better than Tinley. Isn't tailgating a no-no in Tinley anyway? Ick, I hate that place! Anyway, July 28th is a good prediction based on the past couple of years. Anxiously waiting...
I wanna be there...

Re: Toyota Park, Chicago
July 28th was the guess I had come up with too...The Cubs play St Louis that weekend so Jimmy would be able to watch a game or 2 and maybe even sing the 7th inning stretch! I liked Tinley for the lawn but the tailgating was not the greatest. I do not hate TP for the concert part, but I do miss the lawn. Hopefully TP will straighten out the parking this year. We got premium and it was OK, but it just seemed like it was a big cluster once you got out of premium. I hope more dates are announced soon! I want to get to planning!

Oh Shirley . . . We carry on with out you at everything but it doesn't mean we don't miss you any less . . .
The parking lot was jacked up last year due to a very large puddle in the middle of the the main lot next to Premium. No rain . . . no problem.
One of the other big things to remember from last years Toyota Park show was the power outages towards the end of the show. I'm not sure who would have been responsible for that but Jimmy wasn't too pleased. Quite the cluster . . . I wonder if that comes back to bite Toyota Park in the ass.
This year the Parrot Dice Lounge is going to be doing some partnering with the North Central Illinois Parrothead club. I hope to be getting us a trampoline and some Tshirts too . . . No idea on the band/music for this year but I'm hopeful - which is why July 28th would be perfect.

Re: Toyota Park, Chicago
Given all I have seen and heard from management at Toyota Park, and our conversations with them in the parking lot the first year Jimmy was there, I am confident that the moment the power troubles started last year, they were hard at work "making it right" with Jimmy. that first year, they told us "we want this to be Jimmy's permanent Chicago venue"mjeischen wrote:Oh Shirley . . . I am confident they smoothed things over after the problems last summer, and I am sure Toyota Park is where we will see him again this summer.

I like to believe that too honestly. I'm not even sure the venue would be responsible for those particular power issues anyway . . .ejr wrote:Given all I have seen and heard from management at Toyota Park, and our conversations with them in the parking lot the first year Jimmy was there, I am confident that the moment the power troubles started last year, they were hard at work "making it right" with Jimmy. that first year, they told us "we want this to be Jimmy's permanent Chicago venue"mjeischen wrote:Oh Shirley . . . Matt, you and Amanda should try out another venue for a non-working concert experience. I know you went to Alpine last year. Some of my flock want to go back to Noblesville, Ind. They did the whole camping experience across the street from the venue and said it was fun.
Yes, eyes wide open.

We are considering Alpine again. No Lounge just enjoying and taking it in. Perhaps Camping. Perhaps Lake Geneva hotel room with whirlpool bath and mirrors on the ceiling . . . .Summerlover wrote:Matt, you and Amanda should try out another venue for a non-working concert experience. Re: Toyota Park, Chicago
July 28th would be perfect!
There are discussions that we might do Alpine as well. I've never seen him there, and I imagine it's worth it! Hoping the Red Rocks rumor will be true (doubtful) as I will be in Colorado this summer too.
Love Toyota Park for the tailgating! They do it right. VIP is the way to go if you plan on spending the day or have more than a few people. I miss the lawn at Tinley, I wonder if would ever consider making the field at Toyota GA for a show?
I'm ready!

July 28th works into my selfish hope. BUT it fits the current trend . .. Play Alpine then Chicago a month later. Alpine Rumored June 30th.MDown wrote:July 28th would be perfect!

Re: Toyota Park, Chicago
Heard a RUMOR today....... They are trying to tap Jimmy into playing Lollapalooza. If this does happen, there is a STRICT rule stating that bands playing at the fest, can't do any other performances within 300 miles of Grant Park in Chicago. This is only a RUMOR remember, only can be taken with a grain of salt. Lollapalooza is set for August 3-5th. Last year, a 3 day pass was around $200. Tickets do go fast for this, and others rumored to play are Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Metallica, Sonic Youth, Beyonce, and Beck.
Did you hear the one about me being a punk?
Did you hear the one about me being a drunk?
Did you hear the one about me losing my nerve?
Or how I'm just another f**** sheep in the herd?
Did you hear the one about me giving a s***?
Cause if I ever did I don't remember it.

I am highly doubtful about that rumor. The entire Lolla lineup was 'leaked' earlier this week, and Jimmy wasn't on the list.
