Todd Snider New Album
I heard a song from Todd Snider's new album on Sirius yesterday. He covered 'West Nashville Grand Ballroom Gowns.' Really really didnt like it.
if you cant laugh at yourself, laugh at someone else.

Not sure if you're aware of it or not but I started a thread for Todd's new album (as well as his cover of "West Nashville Grand Ballroom Gown" here a while back. I still haven't heard the new record, nor have I heard Todd do the song in concert. I saw him perform in Clayton, NC recently but the only tune he did from the new album was "Precious Little Miracles" so the only version I've heard of "West Nashville Grand Ballroom Gown" so far has been via YouTube. Personally, I liked it. I'm also tickled to death to see someone cover Buffett in such a manner as to expose those that don't like him to another side of his sound. I know of lots of folks that only know him from a few hit songs and already have their minds made up that his type of music is not for them. Perhaps Snider covering this tune will help those folks to understand that there's a lot more to Jimmy Buffett music than just those tunes they're already familiar with.
