Lounging at the Lagoon
Ok! With the name of the new tour for 2012 being announced today, I wondered if you have a favorite lagoon where you can lounge around?
Being from Texas I immediately thought of Laguna Madre although I rarely make it down that way.
The Laguna Madre is a large body of shallow water separating Padre Island from the South Texas mainland. It covers 609 square miles of estuarine and coastal marine systems. The boundary of Padre Island National Seashore encompasses approximately 20,000 acres of the Laguna Madre.

Re: Lounging at the Lagoon
I have a couple of favourites:
Chuuk Lagoon in Micronesia (For some reason it is also known as Truk Lagoon).
http://www.visit-fsm.org/chuuk/
A large tropical lagoon with a multitude of palm fringed islands and almost 100 WWII ship and plane wrecks...
To a dedicated rust diver like myself it is a slice of heaven...
Another is on L' Île des Pins (Isle of Pines) in New Caledonia.
It IS the picture post card island lagoon.

In 1994 Mr. Lime and I had a fantastic sailing day trip to Navagio in Zakynthos, Greece. There is an old shipwrecked tobacco smuggling boat there. And it is surrounded by tall limestone cliffs...they are so white that they reflect in the water and make it look even lighter blue.

And I told my mom I watched this show each week just because I liked how the professor built all that stuff himself......I said it made me want to go to college!krusin1 wrote:My favorite lagoon always had Ginger and MaryAnn hanging around.....

Well, I was half truthful, I wanted to go to college in the hopes of finding babes like Ginger & Mary Ann......

I used to watch the Creature Double Feature on Saturday afternoons with my older brother and when I first saw the tour title my initial thought was "The Creature From The Black Lagoon"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0046876/
One of the all time great "B" grade horror flicks.

If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!
I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

I'm happy with any lagoon that has calm water, nice sand, cold drinks, and a chair... Ginger and Mary Ann would be a bonus

i believe "little person" is the preferred term from what i see on tv, though i would assume midget is still preferred to "kickable"JollyMon66 wrote:We had a channel 48...they carried tge 1970s version of professional wrestling and Ultra Man. The Seven Seas Lagoon.. Sipping on a Fire Rock Pale Ale from the Barefoot Bar at the Polynesian Resort in Disney while watching the unchanged-from-the-1970s Electrical Water Pageant is a fine way to spend an evening.

Re: Lounging at the Lagoon
One of the best days of my life was spent playing golf with my best golfing buddies at Laguna Vista, which is right on Laguna Madre, and then climbing the Lighthouse at Port Isabel and taking photos of the beautiful lagoon and the Queen Isabela Causeway.

Then we lounged in the bar of Pirate's Landing with shrimp platters and Island Blowpops.

Then it was over the causeway to SPI to the Palm St. Pier Bar & Grill to watch the amazing sunset on the lagoon and listen to troprock music with lots of Buffett tunes thrown in the mix followed by a great fireworks disply they do every Friday night in the summer.
