Hey CJ...not sure we will venture to Bristow after last years tailgating debacle....we were able to get our $$ back when the show was moved forward due to the wrath of the hurricane/flood but still

Yeah I questioned it too, but the convenience of it for Sarah and I this year makes it to hard to pass up. We are leaving to go on Vacation for two weeks on August 31st to Florida. The game plan is to just swing by Virginia first. I wanted to go back to Pittsburgh, but being on a Thursday night it makes it hard to take that long of a weekend off. We are going to Pittsburgh on June 30th to see Kenny Chesney and staying over. It just makes for to much running in one week going back and forth. We are about two and a half hours from Star Lake Amphitheater (First Niagra) from my house. Hope to see you in Virginia if you change your mind.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

Re: Who's going to Bristow, VA September 1?
uhhh, so lemme see if'n I got this right .....we buy the tix next week, they say they will let us in TWO WHOLE HOURS before the show starts (which by my calculations oughtta be about enuff time to find a parking place, set up the grill, the table, the chairs and some tunes, start the grill and cook some of my most excellent Jamaican Jerked Chikkin....and then take everything down..no time to eat, no time to drink, no Margarita Jello Shots, no shower pole....)...and MAYBE they will come up with a better arrangement by Sept 1, or maybe they will ban tailgating all together...again.
Is that the deal?

You've only got two options - having fun or freaking out.

Nissan or Key West?
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Bristow again..... ![huh-ani [smilie=huh-ani.gif]](./images/smilies/huh-ani.gif)
After last year's tailgate debacle, in the words of Edgar Alan Poe: "Nevermore". I put up with the dusty parking lots & lousy traffic for years only because this is the closest venue to my home that Jimmy plays anymore.
Guessing unless he plays at Atlantic City this year (which, I realize, is very doubtful) this will be the 2nd consecutive year I don't go to a JB concert......
Good news is I'll have excess $$$$ for maybe a couple of Peter Mayer shows this year!![coolup [smilie=coolup.gif]](./images/smilies/coolup.gif)

Maybe just hang out at the BW Battlefield Inn tailgate? Or drive down to Richmond so I can take their party bus up to the Prince William fairgrounds where they charge buses to come in and tailgate there?

Unbelievable. Hope "they" don't have the audacity to wonder why not a single person my PHC was interested in using our club tickets this year.urlcenter wrote:Here is a link to the new tailgating rules for Jiffy Lube Live for 2012:

Re: Who's going to Bristow, VA September 1?
I have good memories of Manassas shows past. This 'tailgating' isn't much better than last year's lockdown, and it won't draw me back. Last year was not a sellout and it was easy to blame that on the change of date because of the hurricane, but I suspect this year will not be a sellout either, and this time the blame will be squarely on where it belongs: the venue.....urlcenter wrote:Here is a link to the new tailgating rules for Jiffy Lube Live for 2012:

Re: Who's going to Bristow, VA September 1?
I believe that discussion is happening in a lot of clubs this year. I hope HK Management realizes this and Jimmy plays elsewhere in the DC area in the future.phjrsaunt wrote:Unbelievable.
