Thanks for the heads up. I haven't actually heard his new album yet but I've been reading lots of favorable things about it from reviewers and fans alike. So far, I haven't heard a whole lot from Justin that's done much for me. Maybe this record will be different.

Wonder what song he's going to do? I'm thinking BABY'S GOT A BAD IDEA would be perfect. The band could really rock that one. Or MEMPHIS IN THE RAIN.

The new album is the best he's done, IMHO. Covers last year's battles with addiction, his up and down relationship with his dad and trying to come to terms with his parents' breakup. Some of the lyrics will break your heart slap into pieces.
I think he's the best young songwriter working today. Hope he can conquer his demons. Love him live. Haven't been to a better show in years.
Bryn Davies (upbright bass) kills it on several cuts, especially the last :17 of AM I THAT LONELY TONIGHT?
My favorite from the new CD is DOWN ON THE LOWER EAST SIDE ... takes me straight back to the 1960s.
MEMPHIS IN THE RAIN has the same chord progression/rhythm as Otis Redding's SITTING ON THE DOCK OF THE BAY ... I've sung the lyrics over it and it fits, save one extra line ... that includes the bridge. Weird.
I'm also partial to WON'T BE THE LAST TIME.
If you like the sound of Otis Redding, early James Brown, Wilson Pickett or Sam and Dave, this CD will appeal to you. He uses saxes, horns and a Hammond organ. Very 1960s, which harkens back to my dating/dancing days.
Hell, I like them all.

I'm with Terry, this is a great album, he's touring Australia in a week or so, but I am going or a motorcycle trip and won't be able to see him. (I have seen him a couple of times in the past and he always puts on a great show).

Missed it live. Allergy attack about 5:30 yesterday forced me to the bed a lot earlier than planned.
Watched the YouTube .... nice choice of songs, but he looked altered ... and sounded forced ... there are several other YouTubes of that performance floating around out there in which he does a much better job. But it could have just been a bad case of the nerves.
