Camden or Jones Beach?

Camden or Jones Beach?
What is an overall better venue? Camden or jones beach? Is jones beach strict about tailgating? And is it a pain to get there with traffic? Is Camden a better bet? Thanks

Never been to JB; been to Camden several times...and last year was a giant kluster....there's a thread somewhere were you can read all about it.
We would love to have JB be our virgin venue for 2012.

Jones beach all the way!!! Great tailgating, you can walk to the ocean, and see the beach from the seats at the venue! Plus, how can you pass up a show with Jimmy Buffett at the Beach!

On their website it says no alcohol? Obviously tailgating is huge for us, as it is for everyone...they do allow early tailgates correct? Like park at 11:00am? I agree saltx, I've been doing Camden for a few years and have never been to JB. Kind of over Camden and always wanted to do jb

Can't have bottles out in the open -they don't hassle you unless you are acting like an idiot, which everyone knows we parrotheads are funny drunks, not nasty ones

Camden is my "home" venue and I will tell you JONES BEACH IS BETTER BY FAR!!!!
Of course, we're trying to do both...plus Pittsburgh which is also a great venue.

Camden: people are great, crowd is great, venue is great but organization is an absolute cluster. Takes hours to get in, no popups allowed for shade. Although I miss the heck out of my PA and NJ friends, doubt I'll be back to Camden anytime soon.
Jones Beach: Early arrival, plenty of room to set up, the beach is across the street if you so desire, REAL BATHROOMS, venue is great.
Neither is my "home venue" so not a whole lot of hometown bias. All things considered Jones Beach comes out far ahead, hands down.

Jones Beach by far. The people and venue in Camden are great, but IT'S IN CAMDEN, NJ!!! Not exactly the safest city in the U.S.

even though it is my home venue and have been to others-it is the best -how can it not with water as the backdrop to the stage!!! (Seeing him in Paris was great but for regular shows -JB @ JB without a doubt!!!)-

Four or five years ago I may have debated this question. Now I say Jones Beach all the way!!! The only draw back I see at Jones Beach is there isn't a lawn and limited number of seats, but it excels in everything else!!! ![[smilie=battingeyes.gif]](./images/smilies/battingeyes.gif "battingeyes")
