Taking a long weekend trip to Jamaica this weekend, just looking for any advise/input form anyone whos been to MV in Montego Bay. I want to go and listen to Jimmy and Ive heard somedays its a dance club, does anyone know if this is accurate? Thanks all!

We were there in February via cruise ship. We went there after our Chukka zip line experience (which we highly recommend). It is large, two levels with a slide that goes from the second floor down to a roped off swim area (nice). There is a dance floor/dj area on the first floor. They were playing mostly dance music and reggae. We didn't hear much JB being played. Like all the Caribbean M'villes, they are catering to a touristy crowd. A different feel compared to the stateside locations.

As I remember it, it's JB in the daytime (and maybe early evening) and a dance club at night.

We have been there twice, NOT on a cruise ship. Both times during the day. It was very relaxing and laid back, nice trop rock music, until the cruise ship arrived and it totally got crazy, music changed to hip hop and dance club type mix. The vibe totally changed. So I guess it would depend on when you visited.

I actually went to spring break to Montego Bay years ago and it was actually called Margueritaville. It was a dance club all night with club music booming. It was closed during the day and opened up late afternoon. I would post pics but I don't want to self incriminate myself....

It's been a while since I was there, 2003. We went twice, both times during the day. Had some good food, relaxed in hammocks and chairs and enjoyed the breeze. My wife and I aren't the club/dance types, so we didn't go in the evening. We were also to chicken to do the slide, but a bunch of folks were doing it. It looked fun, but we just watched.
