Three words:

SALT LAKE CITY.....we'll show you and your wives how it's done.

fyi: The record for beers sales at the Delta Center is STILL held by the Buffett concert 1992......the last time he played Utah.

In 1992, I went to my first Buffett show at Irvine Meadows. Year after year, I saw the pre-party grow. I have to agree, that the Irvine parties were incredible. However, if you recall, in the early 2000s, the Irvine Riot Police started cracking down on the partying. The following year, Buffett did not playe Irvine, instead, he played at the Pond. Whether, Buffett/fans/promoters/Irvine PD were the reasons that Buffett did not return, is unknown.

However, I do remember that at the Anaheim Pond show, the PD were welcoming and allowing the festivities to go on. Back in the day, Irvine almost always had a minimum of two shows. In my opinion, as the city of Irvine grew, they no longer wanted to deal with the traffic, drinking, and problems.

Alternatively, you do not have to pay to park in San Diego, and the police do not mess with you.

Absolutely second what socal has posted.

It always amazed me that the Anaheim PD which doesn't have a very good rep was so cool at those Honda Center shows.

Jimmy last played Irvine a couple of years ago and the no booze rule was in full effect. They were doing bike patrols busting people for drinking.
