Glad to see him going the complete album route rather than just recording a handful of songs or releasing one single at a time. With the resurgence of vinyl in recent years it's reassuring to know that some artists still believe in the art of creating an entire album as a more rewarding listening experience.

Buffett says he's "written most of this stuff myself," though he's also worked with regular collaborators Mac McAnally and Will Kimbrough and has composed a song with Jerry Jeff Walker's son Django.
I like the sound of all that.

Sounds promising!! Of course, I'll buy it, and most likely love the majority of it, anyway.

I too am looking forward to the new album. I went to my first Buffett show in about 1985, and my most recent was last January in Miami, which was one of my alltime favorite shows. Mostly I'm grateful that all these years later, we're all still doing this.

I hope it's better than the last one, Buffet Hotel was the first Buffett studio album that I didn't buy. I eventually did get it, someone gave it to me for Christmas or my birthday, I forget which one. Can't remember the last time I listened to it though, it fell out of the rotation pretty quickly.

I also got it for Christmas or my birthday, and I also can't remember which occasion it was for.

I for one am very excited for a new album and looking forward to new songs.

I noticed that there were only 12 posts on this topic. Are people less excited for a new album or is it too early?

too early............
plus, I think MANY of the posters here haven't been too excited about his releases for the past 10 years if not more so they've become members of the "wait & hear" camp.

I agree the last few albums have been less than stellar which could be tampering some enthusiasm. I really enjoyed License to Chill, but Take the Weather With You and Buffett Hotel were underwhelming to say the least. I still always get excited about a new album and will be in the store first thing on release day to pick up a copy.

I'm quite excited. I've liked all his recent cd's. I listened to Buffet Hotel twice this past weekend. Also listened to License to Chill and Far Side of the World. I like them all. Guess I'm just easy to please. If the music is good, I'll like it.

I'm definitely excited and am anxious to hear some of the songs from it so I'll have some idea of what it sounds like. I also hope he still plans to release Buried Treasure at some point.

I guess that would be determined only by what kind of wrapping paper was used! ;-)

It came in a brown sealed parcel envelope.
I was thinking it was either from you or Larry.
Guess not, huh?
