This is sort of along the lines of Buffettbride's Nut Goo....if you like salty/sweet.....GET ON IT!

Frito Pie Dessert
Ingredients:

2 bags of Fritos
3/4 cup chocolate chips
2 cup sugar
2 cup corn syrup
2 cup peanut butter....I used half creamy and half chunky because that's what I had.

Directions:

1) Spray a 11 X 15 inch pan with cooking spray. Pour in the Fritos. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.

2) combine the corn syrup and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook until sugar is melted.

3)Turn off heat. Add peanut butter and stir until melted. Pour over Fritos.

4)Let cool and cut into small bars.....honestly, small bars....it's super rich!

I used two of the smaller bags.....not like the lunch box size, but the small bags that were in the potato chip aisle.....
and I used the regular kind, not the 'scoops'

'twas I that made them.....Personally they were a bit too sweet for me, however I did hear of others that absolutely LOVED them...... (long story/short, I don't know how it played into the final taste really, but I only ended up using one bag of fritos).

No, don't crush them....just leave them whole!

I made it. And FPD was a hit, everyone loved it. [smilie=hearts.gif] Paige thanks for sharing your recipe and your feedback.

I did not crush the fritos. I did use all chunky pb. You are so right about cutting small pieces. I may have to take this to work for our holiday parties. [smilie=gt-happyup.gif] Thanks again.

One more question: How do you think the fritos would do if I packed some up and shipped?

I don't know.....I've never had any linger around long enough to see if the fritos would get mushy....that would be my only concern....it's pretty sturdy, so it would ship okay. Just don't about that.
Glad they were a hit! Everyone here really enjoys them too.
I love to cook and love sharing recipes.....no secrets here!

Made this for movie night and it was a big hit. They suggested that I make it the next time we get together.
:)

I also plan to make it for a Halloween party we're invited to.
