So far it looks like no shuttle to the sandbar, right? Since Irene won't drive unless I'm in a serious health condition we would be more then happy about a chance to ride with a DD.
Off to bed now, discovering NYC is hard work...

You aren't over thinking this.geoffm24 wrote:Do the parking lot attendants let you take up an extra spot for tailgating? I have seen Buffett tailgate photos where some people set up tents and bars in an empty parking spot. We will have two cars together but some other friends can't join us till later and will walk over to us when they get there. I'm a little concerned about tailgate space with just the two cars and it would be perfect if we could park a car, have an empty space, then car. How do the parking lot attendants handle this? I know I'm over thinking this and I'm sure things will be fine but it is one of those split second decisions you make that will have a decent impact on your next 8 hours of tailgating. Thank you in advance!

Stay to the right as you enter the lot. Imperative. alrighty! first... no way you'll get an extra space between cars - they pack us in like sardines! So heads up on that. Are you coming in with us? 2 cars simply isnt enough! you need DEAD cars!
What is a 'Dead' car you ask? well.. it all started... alright, maybe not the right time for a long story but here's the jist - the GW lot is packed tight and cars are put into two rows. The parking nazi's as we call them, will direct you into one of two spots - the front or the back! The front spots have next to no setting up area which is why we call them 'dead' cars, no use other than being our pack mules! The cars that pull in behind those cars have plenty of room behind for a set up including an ez-up which is why we call them the 'live' cars!
make sense? how about a little image to help...
now we're getting close when this image makes an appearance again!
If you can meet us at Corks on rt 140 around 9:30/10 am, we have plenty of 'dead' cars and space to set up!
everytime I see the visual I am amazed, dazed, or confused, take your pickTongaTam wrote:drunkpirate66 wrote:You aren't over thinking this.geoffm24 wrote:Do the parking lot attendants let you take up an extra spot for tailgating? Thank you for the help. Last year there were 6 of us and we had an awesome time so naturally when people heard how much fun we had more people wanted to come this year. Right now we have a party of 15. The 6 of us who went last year want to get there as early as possible because we don't want to miss any of the tailgating. The people who haven't been are having a tough time believing that you can tailgate for 8 hours plus and love every minute of it. I'm at the point where I am saying screw it I'm going early and you are either with me or you can find me but that leaves us light on cars. Arranging this has been like hearding cats!TongaTam wrote:drunkpirate66 wrote:You aren't over thinking this.geoffm24 wrote:Do the parking lot attendants let you take up an extra spot for tailgating?
