i was planning last week for next year since i eff'd up this year. but i am happy to say my plan worked!

You two really need to make the whole weekend of it and join us on the Cape. Especially if you love good seafood, good drinks and good times!

we'll be there next year even if its only two out of three.

It is hard to predict what we'll do next years in terms of travel, my financial situation changed a bit.
But if there is the slightest chance we for sure will try to maker it to Great Woods again, even with everything that happened.

I was soooo glad to see Irene made it. I hope she had fun with us even though she doesn't understand us (though I don't think she is alone). I am also sorry you missed the send off. With me driving and the crappy weather, I wanted to hit the road.

We could all be dead next week let alone next year!

Plan as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow.

Are we planning on a show in 2013? Yes, hopefully there will be a show. But if not, there will still be a 2013 northern gathering, and there's nothing wrong with spending the next year planning and being excited about that. Nothing.

We do have a life. There wasn't too much response to this thread at first. Why? In part because due to a whole lot of planning and excitement and hard work on a number of peoples' part, many of us spent a good part of the weekend enjoying each others' company on a beach with no cell service.

I don't get the sarcastic comment, Dan. If you're not interested in the topic, don't open the thread. No on in this thread is bashing any other venue or part of the country, just getting excited about spending time with friends......

Well said Jen! We had over 30 cars for the trip in at 11am...thanks Mitch for being the lookout. From what I have read, a lot of people flock to GW and Tampa. If I was going to Tampa, I would read it, but I am not so I won't. And if this weekend prompts people to go back to GW next year, so be it!

Some of us had 3 awesome days with friends to kick back and relax. Stress free. And yes Jen, my head was lowered today knowing the weekend was ending because it was priceless. If the thread gets shutdown because people are upset, so be it. But that will not stop me from figuring out a way to make a gathering next year. Now that I have gotten to know and love you guys, I can't imagine not planning another weekend away with you guys.

And yes Linda, that includes another trip to PA in Feb

i don;t think ANYONE gets that GW is about soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much more than a tailgate and a show. If Bets now get's it everyone who pays attention will. we need more get togethers. Woodman's? And Tig, I don;t eat seafood!

So let's say that for some reason well beyond any of our control, there is no JB concert at GW next year (shhhhh, it's just an academic discussion)..... I say we pick a weekend, hit the Red Roof, meet at at Shaw's, rent parking lot 6 at GW, tailgate from early morning until evening, back to Red Roof, then off to the Cape in the morning. Or just cut to the chase and head for the beach.
