I once got a call from one of Dr. Phil's producers asking me to be on the show.

I noticed that too. Other venues have posted Friday as their "on sale" date.

I already have the time blocked off and everyone here knows not to bother me leading up to 10AM on Friday

I'm supposed to work the New England Home Show at the Seaport in Boston and I told my boss not to schedule me for Friday morning.

Tickets go on sale Friday. It's only Tuesday. I'd only worry if it isn't on TM's site by Thursday afternoon. Well, I wouldn't worry at all since I'm not going.

Back in the days when I still had a job, I was getting ready to go to TM.com at 10:00am one Friday and my boss called me. I was yessing him to death trying to get off the f'n phone and he kept coming up with more crap for me to do. Finally I said "I'm trying to get Buffett tickets, I'll call you back" and I hung up. Surprisingly enough, I didn't get fired.

Section 2 Seating are going for about 500$. I remember when those seats were $1,500 minimum for Buffett and that was when he was doing multiple shows at GW annually. These prices are almost a bargain. Especially for those of you who buy single seats.

Jen and I are already watching them in case we don't get something decent on Friday. There are actually 2 Sec 2 ROW C seats for $797 each, I don't think I've ever seen anything that close that cheap. Not that I'm BUYING them but you're right about the prices. In the case of the secondary market sellers you almost have to buy 2 to get a good spot. That's why Jen and I team up.

Of all the cliche' based quotes ever written about life in general the one that continues to ring true over the years for me is "you will never regret the things you did . . . only the things you didn't do." I have paid well into the three figures for sporting events, and into the 4 figures for Super Bowls and last minute travel. I have never regretted any money spent on fun times. This is more than true for Jimmy Buffett because you know exactly what you are going to get (basically) so if you always have fun at his shows why not just go for it? Jimmy won't cancel his Great Woods show, he won't be late, and you are almost guranteed to hear the songs you know and love.
A friend of mine last year (non Buffettnews) bought from stubhub. He said he went with the middle of Section 6 seat for $450 because the Section 2 seat was $700 and change. If you are willing to spend the $450 why not just go for best seat in the house? Over the years do you really think you miss the $200? No way. Work hard for the spoils . . . know what I mean?

If there was a single for $750 in the 3rd row I'd consider it but you have to buy two. Totally agree on money well spent. Years ago I heard about a study that said the happiest people aren't the ones with the most "stuff" they're the ones with the most experiences. Works for me!

I couldn't agree with that more. We do it for the stories we can tell . . . right?
As far as Great Woods goes my plan is simple - will probably buy a lawn "seat" no matter what because that is still the best deal in the world. If I don't/ can't go I will just give it away. I will try for Section 2s (like I posted earlier) as well. At this point those are the only places left at GWs for Buffett that are what I consider good deals.

I had to give up on lawn seats. I live in Jersey near PNC, and I have found that there seems to be a causal relationship between me having lawn seats and the wrath of God descending on the venue. No more lawn seats for me.

i just spent 500.00 on golf clubs ( birthday present to myself ) , i don't think i'd pay that for a Buffett ticket , but again , i've been from the front row all the way back in the lawn.....most paid for Buffett was 200.00 for 10th row at Citizens Bank Park.
