I am thinking of surprising my wife with tickets to Mac's concert at Dino's lounge in Ferndale, MI (http://www.macmcanally.com/index.php?page=news&n_id=415). I am not from the area and happened to notice this bar appears to be 5mi from American Jewelry and Loan (Hardcore Pawn tv show location). I understand they exaggerate the drama for the show but I am not sure I would feel safe at the store. So... is the bar location safe or do I need to start bulking up?

with the name triton45 , I assumed you were another poster from a msu board with that username. That guy is a huge scalper who owns "the ticket machine" broker website.

anyway, since you dont know the area I assume you are not him. Ferndale is the San Fran of Metro Detroit if you know what I mean. Its safe. 5 miles is a long way in the Detroit metro area when it comes to safety and economics.

for example in Grosse Pointe Woods you have multi-million dollar mansions but on the other side of the road that designates the borderline between it and detroit you have ghetto housing and bordered up buildings. Its an amazing site.

but ferndale is extremely safe, however just like you would in any city small or large anywhere you should be aware of your surroundings.
