Does anyone else wonder...
Why we don't get tired of Jimmy's music? I've been listening for 20+ years and have been to 40 something concerts, and yet I never tire of listening to it day in and day out. I owned a coffeeshop and Radio Margaritaville plays day in and day out never gets old. Even my staff starts humming the songs because they have kind of been drilled into their heads. Usually the same thing over and over again gets old in a hurry for me, but not Jimmy, I just don't get it. I do listen to other stuff at times, but it always comes back to JB. Just some thoughts.
Some times I feel like a propeller, spin, spin outtta control. I don't who is up on the throttle, boy I wish they would let it go....

Re: Does anyone else wonder...
Actually I have gotten tired of Jimmy's music.
I hang around here for the friends.
Now if Jimmy would go back into the studio and
put out a new album with all new tunes I might
get back into it.

I don't know if I've ever gotten tired of it but I tend to keep a pretty wide variety of music in rotation. Like everyone else though, I also get on kicks occasionally where I might go on a Buffett listening binge.

My Buffett listening ebbs and flows....lately I haven't listened to much at all....but I'm sure there will come a day that I'll just wank to Buffett all day long. I do get tired of certain songs, there are a few that it would be okay if I never heard them again....and some I could listen to every day!

Re: Does anyone else wonder...
It seems like every Buffett song I listen to, I just heard it. But it's not just Buffett, it's everything. I blame it on mp3 players and how easy it is to have music on your person at all times. That said, I'm still into it and some can't believe I have not burned out.

We don't get tired of it either. No matter what else is going on in our life his music makes us feel good. We listen to RM online and on Sirius. In play the CD's in the car. I can't quite explain it but his music fits our mood and our lifestyle. We're comfortable with it and truly truly enjoy it. We do listen to a wide variety of artists from different eras such as Tony Bennett, Bill Medley, Mannilow, U2, Springstein, Elvis, Buble and Lady Gaga to name a a few......BUT at the end of the day it still comes back to Jimmy and the CRB together or separately. His amd their music makes us smile and always will.

Re: Does anyone else wonder...
Between studio albums, the commercially available live albums and recordings from RM of concerts I attended, I have more than 100 Buffett CDs. I just checked and I have 945 Buffett songs on my iPod. I rarely listen to the CDs anymore and I find myself skipping a lot of his songs when they come up on the iPod. The last few concerts, I haven't even fired up the computer to tune into RM and listen. So yes, I have gotten tired of it.

Re: Does anyone else wonder...
Since I have been listening to him for only about 4 years, a lot of the older stuff is still new to me and I haven't gotten tired of it yet. What I get tired of are the concert set lists. There is a big enough catalog that he could mix it up a bit.

This forum is starting to remind me of the sports forums where the fans would rather b**** about stuff than enjoy their team.

Re: Does anyone else wonder...
I don't think someone wondering aloud why they never get tired of Buffett's music amounts to bitching about it. I know that in some of the responses, some folks say they have tired of it. I don't see that as bitching either, I see it as being honest. Speaking from my own personal experience, I know that I sometimes have a tendency to listen to one song I like too much. I'll listen to it until I hate it and never want to hear again. The same thing can happen by listening to one particular artist or album too much. Even with all of the music I have at my disposal to listen to, I still go on binges. I just try not to do it the point where I get burnt out on it. Easier said than done. Still, there's nothing at all the matter with saying you don't enjoy an artist's music as much as you once did, even if that artist happens to be Jimmy Buffett.LiveandletLiver wrote:This forum is starting to remind me of the sports forums where the fans would rather b**** about stuff than enjoy their team.

I have yet to experience any listener fatigue while enjoying Buffett and I hope I never do.

Y'all make me smile. I like this place.
I still have days (months?) where I wean off Jimmy Buffett music (even if only because of the kids), but I always roll back eventually. (Damb, that spelling does not look right. I better move on to the PWI thread)
