J.J. will put Brady on his arse several times....
Is that how they keep score out in WI? Sacks and how many bars of Wisconsin Cheddar you can scarf down by half time? The Texans making it this far into the season really does show evenly the talent (or lack thereof) in the NFL has been spread out throughout the league. They are not a good team. I like Watt. Respect him. But he will be a non factor - despite a sack or two. Patriots v. Broncos. If there is a god.
They actually have a lot of talent, just haven't played well down the stretch. JJ is not the entire defense...Foster is one of the best backs in the league, very good O-line, and TE play (not to the NE level, but still), decent receivers, good kicking game. Schaub has his moments but he's not a franchise type of QB. He's the key. If he plays well, they can hang in there. But Kubiak has been calling a poor game lately...
Houston has a few good fantasy type players but they don't have a good team overall. And, yeah, there might be other guys on the field at the same time but as of late Watt has been their entire defense.
In fact Watt, along with Aldon Smith, should both be in the top 5 for MVP (they won't - but they should) along with Peterson, Brady, and Manning.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

ETA: RG3 seems to be "okay" though...at least he is standing and walking around the sidelines.
Shanahan should have ignored whatever RGIII was telling him
(seriously ... what 22 y/o is gonna tell you "take me out coach")
and started Kirk Cousins the entire 2nd half.
Redskins offense was zero dimensional and predictable
with a wounded RGIII. Griffin held the ball too long as
if (in his own mind) he still had the escapability to make
big plays like he did when he was healthy.

Said it last week...their O line stinks....he's going in already injured and then just getting pummeled.
Sheesh, that was so awful to watch I couldn't bring myself to repost your "walking into a bar" thing...but with Eli saving a seat and directions to the handicapped ramp for RG3.
You only have two options - havin' fun or freakin' out...

it goes back to what i said about running QB's...they are targets and assessable to injury.....he runs hard when he does, and he's going to take hits.which you don't want to see.The guy has Mega Talent , and could and should be a pocket QB with his arm strength.
sigh.... but. As was stated in one of the promos, "for Washington to have a game in January..." Awesome! And to have not completely disabled RGIII, Awesome. Watch out next year!

Seattle had a good game, especially coming back from 14-3 early in the game. But it's no discredit to them to acknowledge the injury to an exciting rookie quarterback. And I'm not even a Redskins fan.

Me thinks you can 'blame' the 'press' and sports writers for the popularity of RG3. He's definitely an exciting player, and helped turn the Redskins around this season..
BUT - I think the Seahawks did play a good game, with a pretty good comeback when they were down.
The media wrote the story of this game before it was played, it was all about Griffin and the Redskins. When the Seahawks won, there was a lot of backtracking to do because they were an afterthought in the storyline.

The Seahawks absolutely did come back and made it a good game. Thank gawd, too, because going by the first quarter it wasn't looking good for them. LOL Part of their TEAM level maturity showed through in the comeback from 14-3 in an away situation. Anyone who wants to post about Seattle's performance can post away. All anyone was commenting about in here was that RG3, who is a scrambly, dynamic, AT-RISK rookie quarterback, suffered what looked like, but turned out NOT to be, a serious or potentially career threatening injury. And you're right, Penny, at least in this conference, it's kind of nice to have a new and interesting and exciting player. I don't think it is the media or the press at all, I just think we're all so sick of the "choker Romo" and "elite Eli" discussions.

Seattle's scrambly, dynamic, rookie quarterback had a pretty good game....
Russell Wilson was 15 of 26 for 187 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions for a passer rating of 92.9 in his first playoff game.
Against the NFL’s No. 5 rushing defense, Wilson ran for 67 yards on eight carries and Marshawn Lynch finished with 132 on 20 carries.
The Seahawks were down 14-0 before they came to life.
I know the voices in my head aren't real, but sometimes they have really good ideas....

Oy vey. Did anyone say he didn't? I'm sure the media in the Seattle area are, rightfully, just buzzing about his accomplishments. His name is Wilson, right?

I admitted on my Facebook page that Seattle played a very good game yesterday and they deserved to win. And yes, I think there are a couple of reasons why it seemed it was all RGIII all the time:
1) It's because it's Seattle. I don't mean to offend you, but Seattle doesn't get too much coverage media wise in sports. In sports, it's usually all about Boston, New York, LA, (this NFL season) Washington, Dallas (in the NFL), Miami and Chicago. Please note I am saying sports in general here.
2) See what Penny said.
3) RGIII IS the number 2 pick in last year's draft. That, in itself, would make it a HUGE media story.

I think RGIII is learning that, especially after the Ravens game. Even saying that, I don't know if he is a "true" running QB like Vick or even Cunningham but I do see your point.

I can't believe I am typing this but I have to agree with Ron Jaworski (sp??) when he basically said that during the heat of the game, one may make a decision that, looking back, may not have been the decision that should have been made but consistently is made in sports.

They lost. RGIII quit the team. Redskins traded Alfred Morris for Tony Romo. Mike Shanahan got a tattoo on his arm of Romo throwing an interception to his wife. Its quite classy. Obama, getting wind of all this, resigns as President. Biden sold the United States to China for an Indian Jones box set and rental property in Chengdu. Oddly, his approval rating went up.
Lets hope that today's game are better than yesterday's, Ravi. Those two games yesterday were pathetic, horribly played, horribly coached, and a complete waste of time. I would have rather watched Biden sun bathe in Chengdu.
I was at the game yesterday at FedEx Field. Even though I didn't like how it ended, I thought it was a good game.

No offense taken... On this side of the country, we call it the "East Coast Bias." With everything 3 hours later, we don't get much attention.
In baseball, unless our games start early, they're not seen on the right coast. Quite often, they end so late that they're not even included in your morning Sports section, and if they are, there's not much more than a box score. Football is a little better, but not much.
That's just life way out here in the wild wild west.
