I hate to even jump into this - but! Everyone tends to look at football as "their team" and "the rest." And it's easy to lose sight of another team's good or bad. So speaking as a life-long Redskins fan, I just have to say that we have not really had a good football game since Sonny played (give or take - don't take that literally). So to watch "our" team develop a star (of sorts) and then watch our team climb out of whatever hole they've been in for so long - has just been a major rush. No more or less than any other's "team." I think this entire season has been one good match-up, white-knuckle, nail biting season for the entire football league. But that's just my humble, not an expert, just enjoys football - REDSKIN loving fan! ok...I'm ducking now....

I don't mean to offend you, but Seattle doesn't get too much coverage media wise in sports. In sports, it's usually all about Boston, New York, LA, (this NFL season) Washington, Dallas (in the NFL), Miami and Chicago. Please note I am saying sports in general here.
No offense taken... On this side of the country, we call it the "East Coast Bias." With everything 3 hours later, we don't get much attention.
In baseball, unless our games start early, they're not seen on the right coast. Quite often, they end so late that they're not even included in your morning Sports section, and if they are, there's not much more than a box score. Football is a little better, but not much.

That's just life way out here in the wild wild west.
And that bias gets really old

One of our sports talk shows made it a point to ask every east coast, ESPN, SI, Yahoo, USA Today, etc., etc, writer about it. The explanation was it's about advertising dollars. More population and more business influence more advertising dollars. I guess that explains the outcome of your Super Bowl vs the Steelers :P

When you mention "Sonny", I assume you mean Sonny Jurgensen. He retired in 1974. The Redskins have been in 4 Super Bowls, and won 3 of them, since then. They made the playoffs as recently as 2007. To say you watched your team "climb out of whatever hole they've been in for so long" is a little overly dramatic. It's not as if they're the Buffalo Bills or the Cleveland Browns.

I write commercials that people get sandwiches during -- it's just my nature to be dramatic! And yes they have - but this season has still been exciting. To me. At least the Cleveland Browns got their own tv show.

ETA: RG3 seems to be "okay" though...at least he is standing and walking around the sidelines.
Shanahan should have ignored whatever RGIII was telling him
(seriously ... what 22 y/o is gonna tell you "take me out coach")
and started Kirk Cousins the entire 2nd half.

Redskins offense was zero dimensional and predictable
with a wounded RGIII. Griffin held the ball too long as
if (in his own mind) he still had the escapability to make
big plays like he did when he was healthy.
Said it last week...their O line stinks....he's going in already injured and then just getting pummeled. :o

Sheesh, that was so awful to watch I couldn't bring myself to repost your "walking into a bar" thing...but with Eli saving a seat and directions to the handicapped ramp for RG3. :P
it goes back to what i said about running QB's...they are targets and assessable to injury.....he runs hard when he does, and he's going to take hits.which you don't want to see.The guy has Mega Talent , and could and should be a pocket QB with his arm strength.
I think RGIII is learning that, especially after the Ravens game. Even saying that, I don't know if he is a "true" running QB like Vick or even Cunningham but I do see your point.
he needs to learn to slide and get out of bounds , you don't need him taking hits. Vick seems to be a run 1st , pass 2nd QB.....Washington does seem to have a lot of plays called for him , where he does run.....Wilson the same with Seattle , needs to learn to slide , not that i've seen him much this year , but , he seems to look to throw 1st , and if it's there , he will run....really didn't see a whole lot of designed runs from him.

When RGIII was healthy ... the "pistol offense" combination threat
with Alfred Morris was a beautiful thing to behold ...
damb near indefensible ....

The problems came once he got injured (foolishly went for the extra yards and did not slide).

Once his running threat was removed most of the play action options
were no longer a threat ... defenses adjusted.

RGIII is a true triple threat. He is NOT "run first / pass second". When his knee is healthy,
the man has a beautiful touch on short passes (west coast style .. get the ball out in the flat to open receivers)
AND
he has great touch on the deep ball.

His play fakes are unreal.

His main problem as I see it is his stubborn streak. His quotes yesterday post-game were ridiculous.

He refused to admit to even himself that his lack of mobility was detrimental to his team.

No argument from me. Yes he has to remember when he should be sliding.

Difference is, Vick is a TERRIBLE passer. RGIII can actually complete a pass when needed.
Wilson shouldn't be in the conversation with them, he's a different player, mostly due to his size (or lack of it).

Vick was a good passer when he was in Atlanta , he had a rocket for a arm , he could through a ball flat footed 70 yards....RGIII i agree can complete a pass , and does have nice touch on his passes , i hope Washington uses him as your classic drop back QB , and have the added benefit with his mobility to move him around with roll outs , i just don't like running QB's in the pro's , they will cut there career very short with injuries from unnecessary hits to the body

I don't know if anyone could slide on the crappy excuse for a football field..... RG3 wasn't the only casualty yesterday, Seattle's starting DE Chris Clemons suffered a season-ending knee injury as well.
http://xfinity.comcast.net/articles/spo ... l.playoffs

Reports: Clemons has torn ACL
The Seattle Seahawks will face their divisional-round playoff battle at Atlanta without their top pass rusher, as defensive end Chris Clemons has a torn ACL, according to reports.
Clemons suffered the injury in Sunday's wild-card win at Washington and had an MRI that reportedly confirmed the injury on Monday. Clemons was not hit on the play and appeared to get his cleats caught in the turf at FedEx Field.
Clemons led Seattle with 11 1/2 sacks in the regular season. He had two tackles against the Redskins before being injured.
Seattle kicker Steven Hauschka also suffered a calf strain in the victory. Coach Pete Carroll said Hauschka felt better on Monday.

I was at the game yesterday and I agree with you. The field was shitty, it's unfortunate that both of our teams had players who either got or exhasperated (sp??) their knee injuries.. I think a lot of Redskins fans would agree with you too.
