Re: Congratulation Mr. President
Yes.... congratulations Mr. President.
That said, I am deeply deeply disappointed. I never considered Mitt Romney a good candidate, but I thought the American people would correct the course of this nation to something we can sustain economically instead of continuing on the path of the last four years.
Our nation... and our President.... will be in my prayers. May God Bless America.

Congratulations President Obama.
The President's closing remarks from his acceptance speech:
The President's closing remarks from his acceptance speech:
And Governor Romney from his concession speech:"I believe we can seize this future together because we are not as divided as our politics suggests. We’re not as cynical as the pundits believe. We are greater than the sum of our individual ambitions, and we remain more than a collection of red states and blue states. We are and forever will be the United States of America.
And together with your help and God’s grace we will continue our journey forward and remind the world just why it is that we live in the greatest nation on Earth.
Thank you, America. God bless you. God bless these United States."
"The nation, as you know, is at a critical point. At a time like this, we can’t risk partisan bickering and political posturing. Our leaders have to reach across the aisle to do the people’s work.
And we citizens also have to rise to the occasion.
We look to job creators of all kinds. We’re counting on you to invest, to hire, to step forward.
And we look to Democrats and Republicans in government at all levels to put the people before the politics.
I believe in America. I believe in the people of America.
And I ran for office because I’m concerned about America. This election is over, but our principles endure. I believe that the principles upon which this nation was founded are the only sure guide to a resurgent economy and to renewed greatness."

Thanks for the reemphasis on the words in those speeches. If only the polititians could live up to these words and work together instead of the constant bickering and blocking of each other's efforts to help us move forward.surfpirate wrote:Congratulations President Obama.

Yeah, election season is like printing your own money for any media outlet. You wonder why radio and TV spend so much time talking about an election that is six months away? The more they pump it up, the more political advertising will come flowing in.Dr.Corona wrote:On the contrary, I would count this time of year as a exhibit of job security.pema wrote:i have a friend who is a mail carrier and she is definitely celebrating todayRagtop Girl wrote:Just so glad the tv adds will be about something other than voting again.

Re: Congratulation Mr. President
I'm really confused... it seems like, no matter which side you're on, you would still want whoever the president is to succeed, since his (or her?) success means that the country is going in the right direction. A failing president means higher deficits, higher unemployment, higher interest rates, more business failures, etc, etc, etc....

I am with you on this one.
So many of the people who were at the rally last night in Chicago stayed out and partied so hard, it caused a lot of gridlock in the early morning rush hour traffic into the downtown Chicago area today. What normally is a 45 minute drive tops, took close to 90 minutes. Simple reason being, all those out "celebrating" didn't have jobs to go for, and on top of it US Cellular today announced that they are leaving the Chicago market and making 100's of people now without jobs. Gotta love that 8% unemployment rate, which will now be higher in his own "hometown"
Did you hear the one about me being a punk?
Did you hear the one about me being a drunk?
Did you hear the one about me losing my nerve?
Or how I'm just another f**** sheep in the herd?
Did you hear the one about me giving a s***?
Cause if I ever did I don't remember it.

Re: Congratulation Mr. President
It's exactly this sort of generalizing and stereotyping that continues to divide this country. I got out and voted but have kept my mouth shut about who I voted for outside of a few very close friends. Meanwhile, on social media outlets such as Facebook I'm seeing a lot of gloating from one side and on the other I've seen our President referred to as the anti-Christ and Hitler. Now is when we should be standing together as a nation no matter who is in the White House. Unfortunately there a lot of people out there with the inability to take that tact.Nighthawk wrote:I am with you on this one.Bfan53again wrote:I'm hoping that now the Mayans were right.......

Couldn't agree more. Sore losers and vindictive winners do nothing but break the country further apart. Isn't it something how some people make personal attacks on others and then claim to be patriots that love their country?Tiki Torches wrote:It's exactly this sort of generalizing and stereotyping that continues to divide this country.
