Did you hear the one about me being a punk?
Did you hear the one about me being a drunk?
Did you hear the one about me losing my nerve?
Or how I'm just another f**** sheep in the herd?
Did you hear the one about me giving a s***?
Cause if I ever did I don't remember it.
Gee, I can't guess but how did they score that. I'll be down that way in late Dec I check it out then but I'll have to use the Riff Raff entrance. No VIP for li'l ol' me.
Well I couldn’t get to the VIP night on Saturday, due to a long standing commitment, so we went to check it out, it was the first day and there were a few teething problems, but the food was very good, maybe a little bit expensive. We had a great time. Here are a couple of pics taken on my phone, next time I’ll take a better camera. It is located only about 2 miles from my place, so I should be able to get there fairly regularly.
We really enjoyed Sydney...
Our first trip we stayed in Kings Cross (at the Hyatt) and the second time we stayed across the street from Hyde Park (Hyde Park Inn, I think?)
On both trips we spent a lot of time in Darling Harbor and especially liked Manly.
The first trip we take in retirement will be an extended trip down under. Can hardly wait!
I know the voices in my head aren't real, but sometimes they have really good ideas....

Lots of other places had good locations too — until the tsunami, hurricane, or storm surge hit. After things like Katrina, Sandy, the earthquake off Japan, and the tsunami in the Indian Ocean in 2004, I'm beginning to think that the beach is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there..... -"BB"-

G'day.
Drove the family 6 hours up the Hume to Sydney for the Australia Day longweekend. I was there exactly 2 years ago to see Jimmy at The Hordern Pavillion (the night of the fall).
Stayed in North Sydney and spent a day at the Manly beach then took the ferry into Sydney. We walked to Darling Harbour and booked dinner at Margaritaville for the Saturday night. Gave my VIP card a work out on a few drinks and some items from the shop. Mel took our booking and couldn't have been sweeter!
Had a fantastic Australia Day at Hyde Park with the wife and kids (The Budgie Heads) then off to dinner. We over did it on the entrée of Nachos and could hardly finish our mains! I have lot's of points on my VIP card now. Had a great table, Mel treated us like royalty (it helped that I showed them the photo on my phone of Jimmy and I), we had a great view of the fireworks at Darling Harbour. I spoke to the girl in marketing and they'd just got back from Surfer's Paradise and they've narrowed it down to 2 possible sites for the QLD Margaritaville. We'll be up there in October so hopefully it's completed by then.

Great recap and great picture! Sounds like a wonderfilled day! Good on ya!
You’re still grinning, we’re still winning, nothing left to say
I’m still gliding as I go flying down this endless wave
Dean--thank you for your post about your wonderful day. It's cold and snowy where I am, and reading your post reminds me that summer will be back eventually.
Here we are, maybe it's because in spite of all the work we do
It's the child in us we really value
Here we are, with our fins up and our feathers flashing
Here we are, with our coconut shell brassieres chanting
