If you want to stay near the Casa I'll remommend the El Patio Motel.livingstonbob wrote:I'm going this year. Looks like I'll be retiring from my state job in a couple of months, so I need to go the cheaper route- no staying at the expensive Casa Marina. Any suggestions on where to stay this year?

A five minute walk from the Casa. If you walk really slow that is.
It's not an overly fancy place, but it's clean and cozy, surrounded by lots of plants, made us feel like being in the tropics the last two years.
No restaurant or breakfast, but you can get a coffemaker upon request, and there's a fridge in the rooms.
They have a small pool and of course an icemachine, plus you can get bags of ice for cheap.
Its a few minutes per bike from lower Duval where you'll find a lot of choices for breakfast.
We paid 126$ a night during MOTM.
Hope that helps!
Cheers, Mike
