Hi there fellow Parrotheads

It finally happens, my job takes me to the USA.
I'll be in the Cinci area, in Mason OH, right by the Kings Island adventure park.

So far the plans are that I'll be there from Dec 9 until Dec 22, two weeks.

So I'm looking for things to do on the weekend (not an amusement park fan...) and places to visit, eat, drink, whatever.

Also tips for nice restaurants and bars  in the Mason area are appreciated!

Thanks for all input!

The Swiss guy.

Hello SG.

Coming to the heart of it all are you? Cool. Do you like sports? art? preferred music genre?

I can put some suggestions together for you and PM them to you.

Hi PotP

Thanks for your help!

I'm actually not really into sports, and not too much into art. More science, history, nature... So Saturday I'll probably visit the Underground Train Museum.
Still looking for something to do on the Sunday. Maybe I still visit Kings Island, dunno yet...

Music, apart from Trop Rock, pretty much everything. Rock, Blues, Funk, Jazz, whatever.
If you know a good place for live music, that would be cool. Or maybe you know or hear of a good show in the area, let me know!
I will also check out what my friends from Knoxville TN are up to that weekend...

But thanks for any tips you may have for me, maybe also for a weekday evening!

The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB, about 50 miles north of Cincinnati might be worth a visit (both science and history.) (I'm about a mile away from there right now....)

It's a little bit of a drive, but check out some of the Amish country to the north if you can find some time.

Darn, I wish we were available the one weekend you're going to be here so we could plan a phlocking. :(

I'm about three hours from Cincinnati so my knowledge of the area isn't very good. I do know Graeter's has yummy ice cream and Jimmy always mentions Skyline Chili when he plays Cincinnati. Both places are right in Mason, too.

Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati is a neat place to hang out and pretty safe, as far as I know. There are also some nice restaurants in the square area. There's one restaurant with a microbrewery; I think it's Rockbottom - very good.

This link lists some things going on during December: http://cincinnatiusa.com/attractionsandevents/

I hope your enjoy your trip!
