That's a really good line up. Just wish they'd pick a better time of year weather-wise.

It's a good thing it's WAY too cold (they are actually talking SN*W this weekend) to get in the water at that location anyway! The venue is adjacent to Ben T Davis beach.

Please look for us! We will have Mr. Utley with us. They say they have 783 pre-registered. We'd love to see you. We are packing blankets for the evening headliners.z-man wrote:was 80 last weekend, will be 80 next weekend, unfortunate that it will be a Little below 80 this weekend. Re: Who's Going to MOTB Tampa 2013?
We had a great time at this year's Music on the Bay in Tampa. http://www.musiconthebay.org/ We wanted to share some of our experiences.
We first heard about this last year through some of our FB Tampa friends. Even though this was only their second year, this is one of the most well organized events we have ever attended. There were approximately 1000 guest in attendance. There probably would have been more, but the cool weather may have kept some of the day trippers away. The service from Whiskey Joe's Barefoot Beach Bar was impeccable. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient. Even while working outdoors in the cool weather and wind, the staff just kept on smiling. We never heard a complaint. Prices were fair (pitchers of domestic draft were $7.50). We ate in the main restaurant twice. Food and service excellent!
There were several Parrothead clubs involved with the organization and implementation. Registration, security, stage sound, entertainment, vendors and other logistics were obviously carefully thought through and the result was a smooth flowing event from start to finish. The amazing thing was once the music started for the day, it never stopped! One main stage handled the headliners and a smaller side stage handled the smaller groups that played while the main stage was being reset for the next band. Outstanding!
You can checkout the music line up from this year on the web site link above. While chatting with Dorothy, one of the event organizers, she said "We don't know how we can top this year's entertainment lineup!" (sic) This was a charity event with proceeds going to the Shriner's Children's Hospital, headquartered right down the street from Whiskey Joe's. Next winter, if you you want to get away and party with a purpose, check out Music on the Bay 2014.
