I thought his involvement was down to "name only" and it was being run by Outback. Leave it to Jimmy to sell something he doesn't own for $11 million.msu#1 wrote:Yahoo seems to think he still owned it and just sold it for 11 million to Fuddruckers. Whats the deal???

Cheeseburger in Paradise is a casual dining restaurant chain in the United States. The first restaurant opened on August 22, 2002, in Indianapolis, Indiana; as of 2010, the restaurant has 28 locations in 16 states. It is a theme restaurant named for the song "Cheeseburger in Paradise" by American pop music singer Jimmy Buffett. The chain was a partnership of Buffett's company, the Orlando, FL-based Margaritaville Holdings LLC, and OSI Restaurant Partners, with Buffett licensing the name and Outback Steakhouse operating the franchising of restaurants.
In September 2009, Cheeseburger in Paradise was sold to current owner Paradise Restaurant Group, LLC. Jimmy Buffett was only a Royalty Partner receiving 2% of profits until selling Paradise Restaurant Group the rights to the song "Cheeseburger in Paradise". Today, he receives 4% of all profits.

the comments on the article are pathetic. Lots of tea party butt hurt people saying things like "jimmy and obama just want to get out before he has to pay taxes".
the internet sometimes should be just shut off.

I'd take this *Yahoo attempt* to cover this transaction with a grain of salt (x3).phjrsaunt wrote:granted it's just Wikipedia and I haven't had much coffee yet, but did that say that Jimmy sold Paradise Restaurant Group the rights to the song???
They seemed to have done a sloppy bit of reporting and fact checking.

yahoo news values scoops and headlines over accuracy.
BTW if JB was selling before CG taxes go up it's actually pretty funny.

From our conversation last night at our local CIP, management indicated that Pappas Restaurants is the new soon to be owner. But that scoop may be as accurate at Yahoo's.

There's a CIP here, at least there used to be, but I haven't been there yet. I've been to Margaritaville, the Landshark Bar & Grill, Hooters, Anthony's and Nacho Hippo.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

Would love to franchise the "Nacho Hippo" name. Couldn't get that name out of my head after we were there last May.LIPH wrote:There's a CIP here, at least there used to be, but I haven't been there yet. I've been to Margaritaville, the Landshark Bar & Grill, Hooters, Anthony's and Nacho Hippo.
When you get a chance on a nice day scoot down to Murrells Inlet Marshwalk. Easy to catch some musical entertainment almost daily. A number of options to choose from in 1 location.
