Where to begin?
IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — A dentist acted legally when he fired an assistant that he found attractive simply because he and his wife viewed the woman as a threat to their marriage, the all-male Iowa Supreme Court ruled Friday.
The court ruled 7-0 that bosses can fire employees they see as an "irresistible attraction," even if the employees have not engaged in flirtatious behavior or otherwise done anything wrong. Such firings may be unfair, but they are not unlawful discrimination under the Iowa Civil Rights Act because they are motivated by feelings and emotions, not gender, Justice Edward Mansfield wrote.

How hard is it to be irresistible in Iowa?
Who's got the rum?

It's Iowa. Wasn't the quote
"If she's built, he will come"?
Or something like that?
"Is this Heaven?"
"No. It's Iowa."

it seems this past year a lot of times I can't tell if I am reading 'real news' or a joke from The Onion.

Ditto. But this has to be real news; you couldn't make up this sort of stuff.

Based on the court's warped logic, can I now only hire irresistible women?

So sad...now men can do about anything they wish.

Would anyone care to guess why Heather Perry is no longer with the Coral Reefers?

Just wondering — has anyone seen a picture of the wife? Could be she's a hatchet-faced ball-breaker who weighs more than an Iowa hog and has good reason to be fearful of the attractiveness of this dental assistant.....

She's actually VERY attractive. On a scale of 1 to 10, she would get an 8 from me.

as much as I love my Dentist (he took his whole office and a guest to the Boise Show this year)
I would probably find a new dentist. reason? If the Wife is the one who made this call (or even part of the call)
I would wonder what else she is calling the shots on.. does she choose what training the staff receives? what new equipment gets bought?
what type of painkillers that are used (NOS or not) does she pick the rest of the Staff? does she control the Raises?
the Perks? is she willing to let the Certifications lapse?
think about it. this raises questions on many many levels
