From reading the thread it doesn't look like they opened the lots until 4pm.

Just got home from the VB show. We were allowed to put up our tent and commercial grill, drink margaritas, and I passed out 150 jello shooters - no questions asked. The staff and police at the venue were nothing but pleasant. What a great example to set for Bristow! PLEASE let us come have a good time!

Hi guys, better late than never right? We'll be at Va. Beach again this year! As for the tailgating questions, we selected this venue because it doesn't have any of the tailgating problems of other Virginia places, especially Bristow. We generally have driven directly into the parking lot without being stopped (3 years in a row for Buffett and ZBB) around 12-1pm, parked ourselves next to the venue in the grass in the VIP and brought out the canopy, grills, blender, etc. One exception to places like Alpine, you will need to use a cup to avoid problems. The staff in the lot is always the same, and they're comfortable enough with us now to come beg food off of us. The police are always very nice and happy. Again, use a cup, and preferably one with a lid. This venue is currently my favorite place other than Alpine Valley to see any show. Now that Nashville and Frisco are out of the way, I guess it's time to start thinking about this one. I've never been to Virginia Beach and I don't know anything about the area. Hotel reccomendations, anyone? I checked that Best Western and it's a 3 day minimum that weekend, it comes to about $550.

Since I'll be driving to this one, I should decide what flavor beer to bring with me. It's all about the priorities.

No, I'm good. Well, that goes without saying. Of course I'm good. I got the hotel taken care of a couple of days ago.

Hi All! The countdown is on. 19 DAYS!!!! Has anyone heard anything about what time the lots are opening up? Also any recommendations on hotels? Pre/Post concert gatherings? Never been to Va Beach before any tips?

Received a message today from Farm Bureau Live - Lots open at 4pm, Doors open at 6pm. Hopefully they will open the lots a little earlier!
