I was there the last time he played in Memphis (4/27/1995).
He made it very clear he wasn't happy with the Pyramid.
It was probably the worst indoor venue I've ever been in. The seats were more cramped than coach on United Airlines.
But, as you said, there are several other nice venues to hold a concert within the metro area.
And I'll be there if he does.

The Pyramid hasn't been a music venue (or any venue for that matter) since the early 00's. Once the Fed Ex Forum opened, the Grizzlies moved there and that was it for the Pyramid shortly thereafter. I saw James Taylor there right before it closed. You're right, Wino, it was a horrible venue! The Fed Ex Forum would be a great option for an indoor concert. As would be many outdoor venues in Memphis! Hopefully I'll get a chance to see Jimmy in Memphis soon!!

No too long ago, I watched a YouTube video of Jimmy's appearance at Musicians at Google. On lady asked a question about the possibility of him performing in Memphis sometime. He did a nice job of sidestepping the question but gave very little hope he would perform there again.

Yes, Jimmy needs to go back to Memphis. I wish they had an outdoor pavilion, AWAY from downtown Memphis ( ), where we could tailgate.

A newer venue would be the Snowden Grove Ampitheater in Southaven, MS. Only about 20 mins away from Memphis. It has reserved seating and a lawn area. Kenny Chesney has played there.
