MARGARITAVILLE VACATION DESTINATION BY WNDHAM in ST THOMAS
Was listening to the Buffett Buffet now on Radio Margaritaville. Kirsten just mentioned that later this year Margaritaville enterprises along with Wyndhan resorts are opening a Margaritaville Vacation Property in St. Thomas. Kirsten said you could find a write up on it on Margaritaville.com. You can also do what I did and google Margaritaville Vacation Property in St Thomas.
Congratulations to JB and Margaritaville Enterprises as they set out on yet another bold adventure to bring us Parrotheads new and exciting places to play and relax ^^

Be nice to read a news story about the new album. It get's a little old always hearing news about what else he can attach the Margaritaville label to. I don't fault him for milking the empire for all it's worth, I would just like to see him put this much effort back into his songs.
I'm back to livin' Floridays

He's playing the real-life-big-boy version of this game.jbfinscj wrote:Be nice to read a news story about the new album. I'm no good with money. That is to say, I'm good at blowing it, not so good at making it. That said, I'm wondering if JB is in the process of expanding the Margaritaville empire beyond what it can sustain, leading to a collapse. Too many products (many of them are mediocre), too many restaurants (the food is so so), and now too many casinos and resorts. At some point, the expansion is not going to be able to sustain itself, and there is going to be a natural correction--a contraction of the empire. It has occurred to me that perhaps JB will continue to expand the brand till he retires; then he will sell the empire, and it will collapse on someone else. Pretty dark? Yes. I love the guy, but all this expansion is not necessarily good and not necessarily wise. "Not a lawyer, a thief, or a banker." It's a damn shame, but JB has become a banker.

Given the choice of existing alternatives, like the Disney-fication of the world, I can put up with a few extra Margaritaville-themed whatevers out there.jbfinscj wrote:Be nice to read a news story about the new album. Really excited about the idea of the time shares. Have stayed at other time shares and Wyndham seems to do theirs the best.
Maybe Jimmy is building all these casino/hotels so that when he retires from touring, he can start going from casino to casino to play like The Jimmy Buffett Casino tour.
I am sure that he has surrounded himself with team of advisors who are business savy helping him make his decisions. He doesn't seem like the type to do anything business wise spontaneously.
As for the empire collapse, everything runs its course and eventually disappears. However, while it's still running its course, I'm going to enjoy myself by visiting as many properties as I can and loving the ride.
