check out the Ozone Bar at the Ritz Carlton on the Kowloon side for the best view of the entire area. Drinks are pricey, but view is worth every drink. The Peak is a bit of a tourist trap, but also has nice views and the train ride up is interesting. Areas for eating and drinking: Lan Kwai Fong near the Central MTR station, The escalators is another area walking distance from LKF. Lots of S.E. Asian restaurants and all within the walking area of both places. Side note: the HK Foreign Corespondents Club is just around the corner from the LKF district and is where Buffett played his only, to my knowledge, gig in HK. Private Club, you won't be able to get in without an invite or credentials.

Nathan road for tons of shopping and additional eating and drinking. Knutsford Terrance is just off Nathan road. The HK MTR subway system is awesome. Buy an "octopus" card for quick and easy use of the system, and you can also use it to make small purchases at convenience stores while you're there. Buy it at 7-11 stores or in the MTR stations. Mong Kok on the Kowloon side has outdoor markets at night. Wan Chai on HK side is bars....bars...and more bars. And loads of trouble for guys with more money than sense. Lots of working girls and girly bars that in my opinion should be avoided. More trouble than its worth. But some good bars and restaurants mixed in, so check out the area, but be aware.

Lantau Island for the trek up to the big Buddah. Take a bus ride over to Stanley Bay, the views are worth the trip as well. You can also venture over to Macau for casino gambling via a one hour ferry ride....cost is about $25US each way, and you have to clear immigration to get in and out of Macau, no visa necessary.

Be prepared for lots of people. LOTS of people. It's a crowded part of the world and civilities aren't always on display, but don't take it personally. HK was British for a while, so English is no problem.

Hong Kong is awesome and there's loads to do and see. Hope some of this helps and have a good time. :D
