If jimmy goes back to Tinley Park I would consider Chicago too. I like the smaller venues. I never saw a single BNer at Comerica. tailgating was spread out among several parking lots.

I might go to Comerica too if I can find some people who aren't going somewhere else.

I'm going. I have 4 vacation days left to use or I will lose. Perfect for a Buffett weekend.

I think the tailgating was better. People actually interacting instead of one giant "mine's bigger than yours" contest at the Knob.
The bars and the beach bash were a nice break too. The only problem I have with it is people sit the entire time when its nothing but seats and the sound is not up to snuff.
Tinley Park is not a small venue. Its bigger than Pine Knob

Not very many venues are smaller than Pine Knob. Tinley is smaller than Comerica was my thought. I always have a wonderful time with a great group of BNers at Pine Knob. I guess everyone values different things about a tailgate. I'm a small town kid and I found the big city, downtown venue to be kinda cold and not warm and fuzzy. Pine Knob is beautiful with all the gardens and I just love the whole experience there.msu#1 wrote:nutmeg wrote:If jimmy goes back to Tinley Park I would consider Chicago too. However I understand that others have different opinions and I'm sure you'll have a great time at Comerica!

DTE/Pine Knob BNer makes the Wall Street Journal Saturday!
I may have been 8 hours behind on the CO PA announcement,
but I've scooped this one the night before it comes out.

Is that you?? Why hasnt this guy heard of the new "barefoot shoe" craze. Its shoes with barely any sole or support to promote "better running form".. the science is out on them right now, no real studies.

Plenty of science........"barefoot shoes" definitly lead to stress fractures.

Yeah I heard from some friends of mine that stress fractures occur if you dont work up to running in them or running barefoot. Im actually thinking about switching over. I downgraded from running shoes to cross trainers. Way less sole but wider. I have feet like a duck. Stubby but wide like a snowshoe.OMiTT wrote:Yeah me.msu#1 wrote:

Re: Who's Going to Detroit (Comerica Park) July 20th??
I'd just like to tell people who have a problem with this show.....You can write Olympia Entertainment and voice your concerns. They will listen and try to make changes. I did that last year and I know they made adjustments based on my suggestions to the pre-party and ......the Tiger statue shirts.
So put your experience last time to good use, its good Karma.
and just so we put facts out there because in the absence of facts , myths move in.
Deer Creek capacity- 24000
Tinley Park capacity-28,000
Alpine Valley Capacity- 37000
Comerica Park concert capacity: 35000-40000
I dont think people can use the "its to big argument" if they go to shows at those venues. Yes its way bigger than Pine Knob but PK is tiny and sells out in under 2 minutes. PK capacity-15,000

Comerica holds 41,782! Not sure how many more with the seats on the field
I might go if I can get better seats than we had last year.

West Bloomfield Running Fit's Red Carpet Run. You're supposed to dress like you're at the Oscars, so I did taking into account the 90 degree 90% humidity weather for the 7:00 pm August race.msu#1 wrote: I like the "business" shorts hahaha, What run was that?
Duck feet? Did you see the artist's "dot drawing" of mine? Just as wide and high as they are long!

Sure I'd prefer DTE AKA "The Knob", but one can't be picky.
I'm not going because once again it falls on the Sat before the opening of EAA Airventure Oshkosh. When that date used to be Tinley Park it worked out perfect, but leaving Detroit Sunday morning would close us out of any decent camp sites there.

Re: Who's Going to Detroit (Comerica Park) July 20th??
I'll be there with my crew. Sure it's not ideal like PK but it's a JB concert/tailgate! What are you going to do that day that's any better??? We missed the Comerica date last year due to a conflict but have been to several other shows there and had a great time. Make the best of it, get downtown early and make it our own. I plan on being so well lubed by the time the show starts that I doubt I will care much about any sound deficiencies!
